I'm addicted to Louisana Hot Sauce! But it has a good effect on me!

I have to have my hot sauce. I eat it on everything. If I eat eggs I eat hot sauce on them. I put it in soup, in my noodles, in absolutely everything. I even keep a bottle of Buffalo sauce, which tastes a lot like Louisiana hot sauce, in my bedroom. I will just drink it from the bottle like it is tomato juice. The good thing is that I rarely get a cold. I did get bronchitis... and I got over it pretty quickly... my sinuses aren't all clogged up like they used to be because the hot sauce keeps them clear. I'm the same way about horseradish.. I like it on meat.. on hot dogs... it's really strong and brings tears to the eyes, but I love it. Is there anything that you just have to have that most people wouldn't do? Please share your experiences.

well hot spicy foods but the blacks here and that is who I hang out with love it so that is not really unusual. T makes hot sauce that is so hot it burns my ears, I have to be careful it raises my blood pressure. Since I have been with M I like hummus, chick peas, lentils, and other middle eastern dishes as well.

I really like hummus and will make my own. I put extra turmeric and cumin in it because it seems to help my aches and pains.

I don't know what hummus is. Is it like grits?

I love hot sauce and chicken wing sauce too! I also put it on eggs and I love it. Sometimes I put it in white rice, chili, and I like to dip my pizza in it. Another thing I love is ranch dressing from Outback or Chili's. I'll put ranch on anything like pizza, steak, pretty much whatever I can find. My dad thinks it's weird but I love having ranch to dip stuff in, especially at restaurants. As much as I love it, I don't think I could drink the stuff straight lol. Although sometimes I have been tempted to with the ranch from Outback just because it tastes so good lol.

Hot sauce and eggs is probably my favorite combination besides buffalo sauce and chicken wings. lol I just can't believe you're able to drink it straight from the bottle!! Lol I don't think I could do that without getting sick. But I'm sure it keeps your sinuses clear and helps out with your health.

mine too. If I eat eggs without hot sauce, I feel cheated when I think about it. I've just gotten to where I just tip the bottle and swig it. I keep a bottle in my room just for that purpose. I think I must have been weaned on hot sauce or something!

I like salsa, and horseradish. Prevention Magazine actually says that even if you do not like to eat horseradish you should open a jar of it and breathe it to help clear up colds. Salsa is full of vitamin C as well as being so hot it will burn the germs out. I also will go get a fresh pineapple to eat if I have a cold or sore throat. We keep candied ginger in the bedroom. It is better than any cough syrup and it also tends to reduce inflammation and relieve pain. I think we should all eat our medicine in the form of relishes, condiments and seasonings.

Thanks for all this great info! I love salsa. I put it on salads instead of ranch dressing sometimes... and sometimes I mix it... I've got to get me more horseradish.. no one else will eat it.. I got to love it because my dad used to buy it all the time. Where do you buy candied ginger? That sounds so good! I get sore throats sometimes... I think it is a gland that gets inflamed in the back of my tongue... it goes away but is uncomfortable for awhile.

Candied ginger depends on the store. I have found it in the oriental section of the grocery stores to begin with. Now our Dillon's store has it in the same section with dried fruit and raisins, etc. I also find it in a little regional store. Is your throat like what they used to call 'quinzy'. Kind of like tonsilitis.

I don't have tonsils but it is back there in the back of my tongue and the back of the soft palate. I am not hurting now but it hurt last night. A couple weeks ago it hurt there and then I got a respiratory infection.

I do not share your love for hot sauce. Though your topic did remind me that a few girls at a previous job actually kept hot sauce in their purses. So when we had a company meeting after work (they fed us) out came those bottles of hot sauce. The only thing weird my hubby thinks is bizarre is if I have fries while we are eating out I like to get some ice cream to dip them in.

I've never heard of ice cream and fries, but I love to have milkshakes and dip my fries in them (which is kind of the same thing I guess). The sweet and salty is the perfect mixture and it actually tastes good even though it may seem weird. It's also really good when your fries are really hot. Another weird thing I just heard of...my dad says his friend will take a spoonful of peanut butter and put it in tomato soup! It sounds weird but my dad tried it and said that it actually tastes pretty good and gives the soup a nice texture and only a little hint of a peanut butter taste.

Ewww! Now that is strange to me to eat ice cream with fries. But maybe the sweet and salty taste is good.

tee hee dear PointlessQuestions we are very much alike when it comes to hot spicy foods. I love this Hungarian peperoni paste where the kernels are still in, its really fiery. I garnish boiled egg with that and also put it on sandwiches. And horseradish is great on meat and sandwiches too. But it has to be the plain brand without cream etc, in which is really piping hot.

We don't have that paste that you speak of.. that I know of. We do have pesto paste.. it comes in a tube like toothpaste. I've never bought any. I love hot sauce... I bet I would love what you mention about peperoni paste. I love pepperoni.

That Paste comes from Hungary. When I still lived in my old hometown there was a vendor at our Farmers Market on Saturdays, so I started eating this lovely stuff about 11 years ago. Sadly he stopped selling and it took me quite a while to find a new place which sells it. If it wasnt in a glass jar it would be no problem sending it to you....

I like Tabasco Pepper Sauce; would your hot sauce be similar to that? When I lived in the states, it's quite common and I use it on steaks, pizzas, burgers, hot dogs, pasta, burritos, tacos or almost anything else. It's harder to find them as I moved overseas; they are not usually available in restaurants, but I manage to find them in export food section to keep at home.

Yeah, you're only suppose to put like 3 drops at the most. So I guess it won't work well if it's used to clear throats or sinuses. I saw a green Tabasco some time ago; it's supposed to be milder. But I still prefer the original red one.

I do like hot sauce on various foods but don't eat it daily. There's nothing really I must have each and every day. I love mustard on my popcorn. Many years ago this all started when we were in high school and soon became a fad of sorts. I had an accident a few years ago and lost of my sense of taste and smell but I can taste mustard. It's a little crazy!

I like mustard too. Bless your heart! Not being able to taste is kind of sad. My ex sister in law couldn't taste either.

I am not much of a hot sauce kind of person whether it is in salsa or just the plain sauce. I do like soy sauce on different things like macaroni and cheese and also spaghetti. My family thinks I am weird putting it on these things but I think it tasted good. As long as they dont have to use it then there is no problem with it.

I am trying to think of something but the only thing that really comes to mind for me right now is my new obsession with making tortiall soup. It is a fun and easy dish to make, and I can make it to my taste, which means firey hot or just savory. It helps keep the sinuses clear as it clears me out.

Is that like taco soup? I've had that and love it! I like it hot.
