I don't know if you believe in fate or not; but I know I do!!! Amy & her son made an impromptu stop at their local Humane Society to look at the cats. There was one cat in particular that caught their eye. He was a 21 pound orange & white cat named Pudding. Well, Pudding had a very sad story to go along with him. He had been in & out of that shelter for 9 years; so Amy decided to adopt him. Pudding had a best friend named Wimsy & Amy didn't want to separate the two; so she adopted Wimsy also.
Amy is a diabetic & has been one since childhood. After going to bed, Amy went into a diabetic coma & Pudding jumped to the rescue!!! He sat on Amy's chest & nipped at her face until she responded to his attention. Once semiconscious, Amy tried to call out to her son, but he didn't hear her. Apparently Pudding realized what was happening & he ran into her son's room & jumped on the bed until he woke up her son. The son realized that his Mom was in trouble & called 911. According to the doctors Pudding saved Amy's life!!! Pudding is being registered as a therapy animal so he can continue to take care of his new Mommy.
I find this amazing for a cat!!! I have heard of dogs doing similar things, but this is the first time I've ever heard of a cat doing it!!! It makes me wonder why others who had adopted Pudding had returned him to the shelter??? They had adopted a special angel & just didn't know it!!! What do you think about Pudding's heroic behavior???

That was touching. Very nice story indeed! I love cats, and I have cats hehe. Mine are snob. Pudding is so attached to Amy, I don't know why other returned Pudding to the shelter, maybe he was shy or always feeling weak because Amy was not with him. Tsk tsk
Long live Pudding and Amy! Lurv you both.

Maybe Pudding wasn't as loving with other owners or maybe other owners weren't as loving to Pudding!!! I think that life just meant for them to be together & February 8 was the day he was supposed to be there!!!

I have heard of other cats who have reacted when their human have had problems, but not on the same day they were rescued!
Maggiepie had a friend who's cat woke him up when his house was on fire, she was also a hero.
Of course, this was BEFORE I met Maggiepie in 1976.

WOW...saved from a fire by a cat!!! I think it was Pudding's loyalty so quickly that makes this such a wonderful story!!! It's like he knew she had saved his life & he felt he owed her!!!

This was an awesome story. I have heard cats doing things of nature before. I know before I had my stroke my one dog stayed by me and he normally doesn't do that. I think he sensed something was going to happen before it did. Now he's back to his normal aint sitting by you unless I want to or if he is cold...lol I have heard that cats can sense when people are going to pass away and they curl up close to their Masters. It's amazing how God created animals and the extra special touch he gave to man's pets.

I've heard many people tell of their dog doing such; but never heard of a cat doing it to this level...especially a newly adopted cat. It usually takes them a few days to get attached to their human!!!

That is an amazing story. I think there are some animals that are so in tune with their owners that they can sense things about them like that. I once saw where this little dog was being registered as a therapy animal because he could sense when his owner was about to have a seizure. She would take that little dog everywhere and it saved her several times by reacting while she was driving. She knew to pull over and wait it out sometimes. He reacted at home and she could get herself in a safe place. I do think there is some fate involved in these wonderful animals.

I have 2 cats & 2 dogs & I think they are all in tune with me; but they weren't within the first 2-4 hours after I adopted them!!! I think the fate became involved when Amy suddenly had the urge to visit the shelter & then felt the need to adopt Pudding!!! I bet she will most definitely spoil him rotten!!!

thats oquite an impressive story there and your question about the other owners gets me thinking too, why would someone want to get rid of something so wonderful?
but then you also have to remember, that you dont know you really have something good till you lose it.
i wonder what those old owners of pudding is thinking now if they are seeing this article?

You're right...you never know what you have until you no longer have it!!! In this case, I believe Pudding needed to stay at the shelter until it was time for he & Amy to meet!!! Had she decided to wait until 2 days later to go in to look at the cats, she probably would have never met Pudding!!!

Another amazing story about an animal and their relationship with their human. Thanks for sharing LadyMarissa. Yet another reason for us humans to give all animals the love and respect they deserve.

Yay, Pudding!
And congrats to the son for realizing there was something wrong and not just locking the cat out of the room.

Most kids would have just thrown the cat across the room & gone right back to sleep!!! I wonder what it was that Pudding did differently that made this kid pay attention???

hi there lady Marissa,
In my opinion that cat is not only a hero but also a very intelligent cat, that cat knew what was the trouble about the situation and had the initiative to take action and make the right decissions, i think that she was destined to be returned to the shelter just so that she can be with Any and her son. What a marvelous cat.
