I was about to say the following:
Good morning too!
You're welcome!
Sure! I will surely come back.
But when I looked at them: guard, service crew, and cashier, no one was looking at me! How disappointing! I have been their customer for more than a year now. I always take my breakfast in that fast food every Sunday. During weekdays, I sometimes take my late dinner at the same fast food. It's the only fast food in our area which is open 24 hours everyday, so I have no other choice.
When the cashier was taking my order this morning, she was simultaneously chatting with her supervisor. She never looked at me. I was planning to say, "Hey! Are you with me?" But I changed my mind for I heard shocking stories about service crew having revenge with the customers through their food. I heard sometimes they're mixing saliva in the food. My classmate confirmed this, but he said he never did the same thing in his entire stay in one restaurant. So, eventhough I was so displeased with the service, I always stay calm and polite.

Hi Wittynet and welcome to my lot. If it had been me I would have spoken up and said something. They are there to do a job and make their customers have a pleasant visit. We the customers are paying for this service by going to their place of business. I wouldn't be surprised at any place of business where the workers spit or did something worse to the stuff they were serving. I have heard shocking stories from people that I know. Things like using the bathroom in the ice that they are making. I guess this is one reason I don't go to resturants and I hardly ever buy ice. I never use the ice I buy for anything that I am going to put in my mouth.

Yes. We pay for the service, so we deserve quality service. Their salary comes from us, customers.
In fairness with them, as per my friend, they are only doing this to arrogant customers. If the customer is nice, they are also nice. I always remember this whenever I eat in fast food or resto.
Oh my God! This ice reminds me of something. They say the meat in siopao is a cat's meat. They use cat because it's not expensive compare to other meat. I'm not sure if it's true, but I don't want to eat siopao anymore.

That's just so true but then there are still establishments that response back to your replies. I do experienced the very same thing when I had my breakfast in one of the fastfood joints near my place. As soon as they said "Enjoy your meal" (without looking at me), they would immediately say to the next customer "May I take your order?" Lolz! Well, I just thought that it's a fastfood joint so they need to move "Fast" Lolz!
But then, it just amuses me when guards or crew replies to you. There's on time when a crew said "Thanks for coming! Please come again" and I replied with a "Thanks! I definitely will". He was shocked and gave a shy smile with a matching bow. Lolz! I can't remember that time. There are also mall guards who says "Good morning/afternoon/evening" and when I reply back, they would smile and nod.
I think the crew should also practice more on responding to such instances. That way their shop/establishment will get a high rate from customers :)
You just did the right thing on being calm and yeah, I also heard of those times when the kitchen crew do yucky things to their arrogant customer's food when they're agitated :(

That is correct! We're always looking for an unparalleled service. We know very well that they do not know what they're saying when they're not even looking at us while saying their spiels.
Yes. You are correct! They'll be surprised when you respond.

Hi there wittynet,
It is really scary how this we are like helpless on doing something about it without avoiding unjust repercussions, We go to a certain place we are never mean to any staff yet people are still this way not paying there attention to us and just not being customer friendly even though we are great and constant customers, i guess there are just days were there are people like this and one of this days we can advise them on how to do there job properly and not having saliva as revenge on our food.

That's why it would be best for the owners to employ mystery customers. They can also have spies who will also be working in the kitchen. That way, they can monitor if the staffs are really doing their work, or are just taking revenge and doing dumb things just to get even to customers.

I agree with your actions. It's better to just stay calm and polite when dealing with the service crew. They're probably too bored and tired that they find their job too monotonous already. Those greetings such as "good morning," "welcome," "see you again" were meaningless to them and just part of their everyday routine. Well, I hope they'll see it in a different light, as dealing with people sincerely makes their job more interesting and happier.

I feel that we don't have to take the common courtesy shown by the service staff too seriously. Its practice of greetings is just a part of their job function and over time, the people who say it may become so mechanical that even in his/her sleep can still say it perfectly well. So don't take it personally. Sometimes we do get genuine greetings with emotions but that is because we are lucky that day.

Sometimes they just memorize these courtesy lines, that's why they said these without even looking at their customers. Just following the orders of their superiors or maybe an SOP for them, really disappointing. What we do is ignore them as well.

Yeah I have heard people do this before. And I can't believe that people would do this, but they do it because the way some of the customers have treated them. But I am like this if you don't like your job, then go out and find another. It is their job to deal with difficult customers. I try to be nice to everyone that is my waiter or gives me food because out of fear of them doing just that to my food. But even I have heard when you tell them that they have done something wrong with your order they will have an attitude and then they will do the same once again. I have worked in a restaurant before and despite all the bad experiences that I have had with customers, I never have done this to anyone's food.

Good customer service is required to fast foods so that we (customers) will go back again and again. There are some hearsay about staff you take revenge to customers that they think to rude to them by doing some nasty things to their orders.I always notice that greetings stuff that they don't even bother to look at you and just do the greeting stuff.I don't misjudge them for that act cause maybe they are bit tired cause working in a fast food is really a tiring and quite hard job to attend to.

Yes. But in my case, whenever I talk, I see to it that I am looking at the eyes of the person I am talking to. They sound robotic. I was planning to tell them to record their voice and just play it whenever the customer enters or leaves the fast food.
I agree. They're not allowed to sit the whole shift. There are always so many customers. But because they never pay attention to customers while they're taliking, I notice that most of the customers ignore them whenever they greet. Maybe these customers realize that what's the use of answering or looking at them, they're not also looking at them.
