Atheist, agnostic and believer are all labels we apply to people to try to describe how they fell about the existence of a god. Are these really adequate to describe a person's state of belief or are they just neet pigeon holes we try to stuff people into? Where do you put a person who believes in a god but not the same god you believe in or differs with you on the nature of the gods?

There is only one true God. So, I call those who believe in a false god - deceived.

What standard do you use other than personal arrogance to establish that there is only one true god that stands out from the multitude of gods on offer. How can you be so sure that you have chosen that one true god?

What evidence? Why is your version of a god true and my perception of the gods false?

Evidence is the standard, and yes, I'm sure.

I agree. It is a truly lamentable habit to attempt to label people by their chosen beliefs.

Same here. For me,religion is just your guide to spiritual righteousness so one can't say that what you believe in is wrong & vice versa.

You just told us what they are. They are believers. They believe in a higher being. If their idea of this higher being is different from mine, and I believe they will be blessed by belief in my God rather than theirs, I see no harm in telling them so. They have the right to choose what they will believe and I have the right to try to lead them to the one true God.

With the thousands of gods that are and have been worshiped don't you see that there is more than just a slight bit of arrogance in believing that the god you have selected out of the mix happens to be the one and only true god?

I guess it's like calling someone black or white... or calling someone vegetarian or vegan... or calling someone American or Australian... we really can't be any of those, 100%, so I guess it all comes down to what you want to call yourself.

I wish the day would come when the idea of labeling people would pass but I fear I hope in vain.
You are one of the inspirations for this post. I have watched with some amusement as people try but fail to find a convenient pigeon-hole to stick you in so that they can safely dismiss your beliefs.
