Tonight they were on as were the Red Carpet festivities. I actually enjoyed this years televised show. It flowed well, Billy Crystal was fantastic, he kept everyone and everything moving and flowing nicely. The comedy was clean and tasteful, the talent of Circ du Soleil was AMAZING!
I was happy to see Christopher Plummer win for Lead Actor at the age of 82. I learned tonight he is the oldest actor to win in that category! Meryl Streep won as best Lead Actress - apparently she had been nominated 17 times!
I did hope that Michelle Williams would win for her role in "My Week With Marilyn" but alas not this year.
How about you? What did you like? Did you watch it or the red carpet festivities? Did anyone happen to see Ryan Seacrest get "dusted" by Sasha Bowen's Character The Dictator (Apparently he had been banned from attending the Awards), he also "pretended" the stuff he threw at Seacrest was Kim Il Jun's ashes! Personally I thought that was tacky.

Personally, I think they should get on with the awards without the extended comedy scenes & the musical acts. They should keep the history of the movies & all that. It's related, not the comedy & musical acts. But it did go quickly more than usual. I was hoping that "The Artist" would win best picture, since I saw it & loved it! I was hoping that Merryl Streep would win as best actress as Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady", since I saw that too & she did her voice & mannerisms perfectly! My wishes her answered!
