Money burns a hole in my hand

When I got a lot of money on me, it usually goes out of my hand very quickly. There are always things to buy. My wife has a lot of long list to buy, kids come to me and nag at me that they haven't changed their school bags for a long time. In a split second, the money is no where to be found in my wallet. It's gone.
What about you, how do you manage your personal finance? Does money also burn a hole in your hand?

Hi yanzalong,
I guess money does seem to disappear rather quickly. It is difficult to manage one's personal finance especially when there are so many things that need attention. It's all so easy to reach into the wallet to spend the money. However I believe in discipline in money management. Without discipline it would be extremely hard to save money. Discipline takes some training and practice and one has to have a strong will and desire. One way is to practise delayed gratification. It always works for me when I tell myself that if I save and invest my money I would be able to afford better stuff later. Have a nice day.

I agree with you. Sometimes it's easier said than done. When the real money is on hand, it vanishes very quickly. I never count how much I've spent but I examine the rest of the money I got shocked. How come I've a little left? What on earth have I bought?

See really with me, there are just going to be a lot of times where money tends to slip out of my hand, as opposed to rather burn through it. Granted, it is not for foolish, useless things that the money really slips right out of my hand. Rather it is really just something that all of the things that I need, are just getting slightly more expensive and the money is slightly less.
There are just times where it does seem like a rather creative balancing act, as there are just many sacrifices that need to be made. As money really continues to slip right out of hands. Rather continue to spiral right out, right to a lot of the times and it is just really something that is extremely harsh. But hopefully things will improve.

That's right. I spend all my money for daily need. I just believe how fast the money is gone. It won't be a problem if my income is a lot higher than the expense. Up to now I am just feeling that I am always trying to keep my head above water.

Well it happens to me too. I get a lot of money and then blam this and that comes up to be paid for, or this needs to be bought. Leaves very little for wants, or for savings. That's just the way life goes!

Women are usually very good at managing money. They can think of saving some for a rainy day, while men are not trusted to keep all the money. It will definitely be gone.

Yes....It sure does. I am the WORST at managing my money. Others will vouch for me on this one. I am so terrible at it that I spend a lot, mostly on the weekends, and spend the week-days charging my brains out (darn credit cards) or not buying anything because I have no money left over from the weekend. I really need to learn how to budget. Either budget or make more money, each are equally daunting tasks if you ask me... Good luck to you on your finances... (Wish me luck on mine too)

I think it is the credit cards that burns a hole in your hand. All you got has to go into paying the credit card installment. I used to have some credit cards.

Actually I'm single so I don't have those real problems.
Anyhow I agree that money goes away quickly.
The more you get the more they go away!! it is crazy.
And I don't know in your country, but in mine prices are increasing tremendously especially petrol. In fact now I take the bus to go to work ;)

Nowadays, expenses outweigh income. We pay more than we receive. This is terrible. I thought it was happening in my country but in reality it is happening else where as well.

Yes, it takes time for money to come in but it's gone in no time. That's the magical power of money, faster than the speed of light. I used to spend a lot of money on stuffs that i don't need, and i ended up with mountains of debts to clear. With that lesson, i've curbed my spending and i found that saving money isn't that difficult at all. If u are spending it on your family, u should tell them honestly about your budget, they would understand, especially your wife. As for your kids, there's no harm in pampering them once in a while, but not always.

With me it works this way: As soon as I have my income I automatically pay: rent, gas, electricity, health insurance, saving money for each kid and bit of me and other bills. What is left over is for buying food (shoes/clothes/etc) for the rest of the month. So no money means: no.

You should try a money managing program.
There are quite a few for free on the internet, and most of them offer good advice.
Give the fact that I can not copy-pste yet, I can not guide you to one of these, which I consider the best.
You know, for some people not making money, but getting a grip on their money is the main problem.
You have to make decisions about things that are absolutely neccesary, and those tthat are just for pleasure.

Hi! Yes, money always goes away when you are not cautious. Actually money does not burn a hole in my hands since I do not have much money now. I wish I will have the chance to let money burning a hole because in that case I have already got a lot of money. :) Finance has become a frequent topic of discussion because of financial crisis worldwide. I think we should be more cautious with our finance and work harded to make a higher level income :)
