A very long line in ladies restroom??

I have observed this lots of times already, ladies usually wait in a very long line just to use the restroom in malls. Sometimes i wonder why does it really take a long time for women just to use the restroom. Well, i could do my business in the restroom for at most 3 to 4 minutes but i think some ladies would usually take around 10 minutes just being in the restroom. Maybe women are just quite vain that they have to face the mirror for a long time combing their hair and doing their make ups and everything else. Maybe women have their own reasons why they are quite vain about their physical appearance although i think some people won't even care much about how they would look as long as they just try to be who they really are. For the ladies out there, do you also take a long time when using the restroom? What usually consumes your time inside the restroom? Feedbacks from all memebers and guys are also welcome. Thanks for sharing guys.

Being a guy I don't know for sure but I can speculate on it. One reason is purely because of anatomy. We guys can stand for at least the most common reason to visit a public restroom; this means being able to use urinals instead of stalls which take up less space; it means only opening a zipper in front etc. as opposed to lowering pants, etc. or dealing with a dress and possibly panty hose; and possibly other reasons that I have no clue about but that feminine hygiene products might be involved. Also, most women do wear make up and lipstick and this may require a touch up or why wear it at all. We guys just have a lot less to deal with and can get in out quicker.

Exactly!! I have to add that if the cabin door cannot be closed - which is very often the case - we might have to use one hand to hold the door. This slows everything down even more :D

A public restroom is somewhere I would never choose to spend ten minutes of my life. If I'm ever in there for 10 minutes, it's because I stood in the queue for nine minutes behind that woman who does.

I don't take too long in the restroom specially in public. After using the toilet I get out. I don't used faucet to wash because I have my own hand sanitizer I don't even bother looking my self at the mirror. I just thought it's still a restroom that have many germs that I can get. And if it is also crowded I might in a hurry to go out. I just observe one thing that's why the line is so long because us girls always want to have a companion even in the restroom even she don't use the toilet we want us to be with.

I'm a woman and I have NEVER used the restroom for that long in a public place. I can't even imagine spending that much time in there. The only thing I can think is that there are women that go to the restroom at the same time and they wait for each other and primp and fix their makeup. I really don't know. All I can say is that not ALL women are like that.

Unlike male who only need to put down their zipper, female have more things to remove before they could go about doing their business. A few seconds more each and it could add up very quickly.

Another reason why there is a long line in female restroom aside from men and women's anatomy, is because there are more women than men in our population.

Hi cyclopz, I usually would leave the restroom after I have finished my main business there Public restroom is not a comfortable place to stay long. Hair available in the hand washing basins make me feeling uneasy as well. Anyway no matter how luxurious a restroom is the air outside in spacious area or outdoor is always the freshest and best Happy posting

After reading most of the responses here, I don't think there's more to add, also I'm a guy so I really don't have any more specific things in mind, but I have to say that some of the responses gave me some laughs. It isn't really funny, just the way it was said. Talk about bathroom jokes, eh?

Peeing for a woman is generally more involved than peeing for a man. No offense, men out there, but unlike you guys, we can't just 'whip it out' wherever, pee, shake it dry, and call it a day. Plus there are other lady-like things we might be doing in there - sure, reapplying our makeup, talking on the phone, check out our outfit, our hair, whatever. Not to call us materialistic or anything. Oh, and also, have you ever stopped to think maybe because men usually have urinals (several) whereas women usually have just a couple stalls?

That's always been a secret of women (lols) Just kidding. Women takes sometime to use the restroom for different reasons. For example if a women is wearing a pantyhose- she can't just pulled it down or pulled up too quickly or it will ruin the stuff (we know how it is made of) Especially for ladies with long nails- it needs care to pull down and up a pantyhose. And more different reason that men don't do.

Beautifying or retouching doesn't have to do with a long lines at all. Again that is not even connected for using a bathroom. I am a woman as well but it pisses me off when some ladies are staying inside the toilet for a long time. Sometimes I silently counting for how long they are staying inside. Sometimes I am already singing the national anthem silently just to see how long it would take me before my turn. Because in my case as much as possible I am taking fast when using the bowl because I am concern with other ladies outside. But then sometimes I take a little bit long because I am spraying the toilet bowl with the cleanser before I am going to use it. I don't have any idea specifically of how come ladies tend to use the toilet for so long but then at times if you have a period then you are obliged to change it. I mean that thing is counted as well. I just hope you understand.

First of, I'm a guy. What I've heard about this though, is that women usually like going to the restroom with a group of girlfriends so one can hold her stuff and things like that. I'd really like to know the reasons though. If you're just trying to look nice or put make up on it might be unnecessary. I'm sure you'd all look nice either way and we would all appreciate not having to wait for so long while you get ready.

Women all have to remove more clothes than men do, and they always have to do their business sitting down. It is not vanity, it is anatomy. Everybody, men and women, should always wash their hands thoroughly. Often women are the ones who have to take the children or the elderly relatives to the bathroom. I think all of those are good enough reasons.

For one thing it's a LOT MORE complicated than "zip, pull, whiz. shake, push. zip" & walk out!!! With many women there is a good bit of vanity involved; but that vanity is mostly to look good for the clown who wants her to look good & then complains because she is vain!!!

I have noticed that women are slower in using the restroom. I think that is sometimes due to how women are made when compared to men. I think that a woman's plumbing is not as fast as a man's plumbing. However, I think that other times, it has to do with vanity. I am thinking of when there is only one toilet. And only one woman at a time can go in. I think that some women use the toilet and then take the time to put on lipstick, fix their hair, etc etc oblivious to the fact that there are several other women waiting in line to get in. But often women have a child or two with them. And children are very slow about using the bathroom. I wish that businesses would try to be very aware and sensitive about the facilities they offer. A business sometimes just offers the number of toilets that they are required to offer which is often one toilet for men and one toilet for women. When they get busy, the number of toilets can become a problem. I really appreciate a nice bathroom with more than one stall. Myself, I am in and out.

A lot of restrooms are quite unappealing and as I was taught, most don't want to sit down on a toilet seat in a public or patron toilet anywhere. God only knows what's on it! There are so many toilet seats covered in urine, it's disgusting. For this reason I think women take so long - hovering. It's no easy feat to hover and aim into the bowl directly, you have to position yourself at an inhuman angle. Men just have to stand there, whip it out, work away and put it away. For us, it's so much more, which is why cubicles are occupied for some length of time. Some ladies might have other reasons such as their 'monthlies' to use the toilet, that takes time to get 'seen to' (hey, you asked!). Of course, there is also the time require to wash your hands, check your reflection and move on :) Here's one for you though - every man denies being a seat/floor pee culprit, yet most men do it, or there wouldn't be pee on the seat or floor. Why is it so difficult to control it, it's not like it's a big fireman's hose under pressure....
