How can someone just kill another human being? In the United States in Ohio,a student shot five students, and one died. It's so sad that anyone can just take a life like that.I can imagine the family of the boy that died.I've been watching on the news all morning now.I'm shocked that the boy got into the school with a gun, with intentions of killing the other students. They had no metal detecter. They wait til someone has to die to provide safe security? schools are not safe, there are loons out there that kill, without a conscience of it.

Hi Java: There are many reasons but one of them is culture of hate. Some people approached themselves to culture of violence, lose their values, and for one or many reasons start hating society, maybe because people have been unfair with them or because someone has also be violent with them. Some people cumulate hate for years and they just explode.

I guess it made me wonder because I don't carry hate to a violent point.I guess some people have violence in them , where it doesn't bother them to hurt others to that point. It seems common, when others are unfair to someone like that, it probably makes them want to get even.

Hi Java: Thanks for the best answer
@Matpunk: you have a good point, that's the reason why I think legislation on weapons should be better to control these situations.

In some ways I agree with Alvaro. The killer had probably cumulate a lot of hate for his problems (that's why he's the psicological victim) and thanks to the American culture of weapons and violence he had been able to hurl out his violence making this terrible massacre.

for the simple reason of being insane. they are not with themselves anymore. too much anger lead to bad thinking...To much stress deliver someone from getting violent...and too much hunger can affect as well. here, just this week, a man axed the rest of his primary family members. He has existing mental problem when his wife and kids left him. The other week, a man shot his wife, mom-in-law, sis in law and brother in law for the simple reason of the food that was not served the way he liked it although they have issues way before that, too much stress and argumets bursted him to just shot the people in the house. whew...

We are subject to so much killing on the TV, in the Movies and on the News that it have become unreal. The reality of taking a life just isn't real to many of us. Even when we see it in person, such as an auto accident, we feel it is somewhat unreal. Until it happens to you or your family it's just another story on the News. Of course once it becomes real, never again do you forget that experience. Blessings and prayers for all those suffering from this insidence.

Yes,it's terrible!
I'm sorry to hear that.
I'm a teacher in the middle school, the safe security is the most important thing in my school,we have special lessons about that, every thing looks like goes on well, that's our duty.
The world is crazy, the school is not calm any longer,we are doing our best, that's our duty.

I think everybody is able to kill.. just like able to robb or stab someone in the back or gossip or lie. I also believe nobody is just killing for no reason. There is always a reason even if it's one that doesn't make sense to you.

This is a very big subject, and deserves a complex answer.
I wrote about this thin on my blog some time ago, but given the fact that I am not able to copy-paste yet, I will have to sumarize it to a few words.
Hatred could be one of the triggers , and is the most frequent one.
Envy is among human beings from the begining, and has almost no cure, but a burst into madness like the one you've described.
Another reason can be a trauma suffered by that person in the past. A trauma so big, hidden and suffocated in the subconscious that when triggered it whipes your mind clean, and you simply have no control on your actions.
There aree many aspects to be discussed, but given the human nature nothing is as obvious as it might seem at first.
I wish you a good day, Java09!

I don't think it helps that there's violent vidoe gaming out there.Alot of students like this play "Grand Theft Auto".Which I think should be banned.Alot of teens play that.society isn't concerned about what is appropriate. The gaming companies are only concerned about making money.

i don think its fair to say that schools arent safe. it is a very small minority that this happens to. its terrible and i agree that something should be done, however, having metal detectors in every single school, just in case something like this happens, will just make people more scared. you would be turning schools into prisons and putting the messege across to young people that they are always in danger.

i understand what youre saying and its terrible. my point is that something should be done to ensure that young people dont turn out like this in the 1st place. if it wasnt a school that this person killed people in it would have been somewhere else.

its not supposed to happen any where! killing is killing it doesnt matter where it is! i never hear of things like this happening in britain and i dont know of any schools that have metal detectors here. i think that the concentration should be on why people are like this in the 1st place. if you drill it into young people and children that this is what the world is like then things will never change because they will think its normal that people go around shooting people. i would never have considered for even a second that that would have happened when i was in school and im only 20. there's something making these people flip and metal detectors will not solve the problem. they will just take it somewhere else and make it worse in the long run. whats next, metal detectors in shop? in hospitals? in restaurants? but then there's always outside. you cant metal detect outside of buildings!
