For VA jobs you can get around $10 Per Hr, but there are many bidders for each vacancy.
There are lot of Legitimate writing jobs on the net, You can make lot of $$$.
But you need to be a very good writer. Some good sites that i know requires you to pass there writing skill test as well.

I'm not completely sure, but maybe something like online tutoring? It's not unheard of for more advanced math students to do live online help with people, like a college calculus student being online and answering questions from a precalc or Calc A student.

I think web designing is one way to earn money. But you need to learn this one before venturing. Writing and blog seems o be the best online money making method. Writing is still the preferred way to earn by many, provided you are good at it. Online tutoring helps to earn, but income may not be as much as offline tutroing. Never ventured into it.

you can find them all in the internet however only few are legitimate. Others need to pay first to register. Just try to find jobs in online forums which talks about earning money online. You can also try inboxdollars and cashcrate.

I most recently have started making money online by releasing mods for minecraft, and linking to them with adf.ly links. I've been making a steady 20-30 cents a day with one good mod, and that's been growing for a few weeks. Although for this you would need to play minecraft enough to know what kinds of cool things you could add, and then also have experience with advanced OOP and Java programming.
Online freelance writing is always a pretty safe, low-ish source of income. I use triond and was making between 5 and 30 dollars per month at my writing peak with 1-2 hours a day. I've seen sites that pay for reviews, but after trying them I found that they didn't accept many of the reviews, and you had to publish many detailed reviews in order to make a very small amount of money.
VA's, would this be like an online tutor or something? I'm not quite sure, but online tutoring has always appealed to me. Not quite sure how much you would make from it though. This would also require expertise in common skills like math and sciences.
