I don't allow the dogs in my bed. But if we get the 7 inches of snow tonight and if that causes the power to go off. My bed will be open to them, even under the covers. Which all goes to show you that even old ladies like me need to be flexable in this life.

Brr! it's very nice weather here for me. I can understand the no dogs in the bed thing though, well atleast big dogs. I don't mind little ones, though they get right up against you.
Maybe getting some old blankets for them to cover up with and put on the bed, or on the floor to keep them warm?

Flexibility is awesome! Especially if it keeps the toshy warm
My little Eva sleep with me every night. I have never allowed a pet in bed with me before but her..well...it's different. I was worried at first because of her size but she just gets out of the way and finds the place she is comfortable. This has been going on now for three years and I have to say that if she weren't with me now..I wonder if I could even sleep.

I think it is understandable that you will not allow dogs in bed not unless if they aren't into dirt. But then due to the weather of course we have to be practical that we need to save them as well.

Hi savypat,
We allow only one of our dogs on the bed and it's our girl lab. It's because she's the only dog who seems to know how to sleep on the bed without bothering us. She would stay on the side where it's spacious enough for her. Like the other day she saw that there has been a portion of the pillow where no one was sleeping on and she quietly went to it to place her head. I find it very cute and not annoying. She doesn't stay the whole night on the bed and moves out to sleep on the floor. When morning comes she nudges her nose to wake us up. :)

It may get to be cold enough to be a "Three Dog Night". I generally do not like the animals in my bed, but Princess thinks that is where she belongs if she so chooses. She is well mannered, though.

Ah, you must be taking all our snow this year, because we barely got any..My dogs sleep with someone, whether it is me, or one of my sons, they sleep with someone, and are obviously spoiled, even though they have their own soft comfy bed..lol Keep warm savy, and you can be sure you will if you have your dogs with you, the heat these animals give off can be comforting in very cold weather..

I love having my dogs in the bed, especially in winter. They're like two little heaters, one on each side of me and they keep me toasty warm. Although one is a bed hog--he is a very big Boston Terrier and when he stretches out he takes up half the width of the bed.
I've always slept with my dogs, although when I was married my husband forbade it. Now that I live alone I can have the dogs in the bed and it's very warm and comforting. Although I can see why someone would prefer to sleep alone, I like the company and the warmth.

I don't like the dogs on the bed but Hubby does. I often wake up to find one of the two with us. I did have them trained not to come on the bed but some how since we have been home that has gone out the window. I wouold though want them if it was really cold and no heat!

I really don't like to let the dogs in my bed because of the fact that they simply can't stay still in the bed and for that reason I'm really not able to sleep when they are in the bed.
In addition to that, I don't like to let my children in the bed either because of the fact that they will root me out of the bed and I will end up in the floor. I know it might be a little bit harsh, but that is simply the way that I am.

yeah if the lights and power were to go out that would also mean th electric heaters too? so the dogs can be good for warmth too.

I agree with no dogs in the bed. But I do remember years ago when we used to have a husky, he disappeared and we could not find him. We looked all over the house. So finally I went into my parents bedroom and there he was laying down as if he were on vacation or something. He was sprawled out on their bed. It was funny. And when we found him he just looked at us like to say, what do you want. LOL.
