For around 3 months, we're not able to watch tv. Our previous TV set lasted for 11 long years. Just early this month we're able to buy a new TV set so happy as it's 21 inches and costs only 5000 pesos. The trademark not that so popular but already in the market for quite sometime. Just the other day while watching the tv set just go off the air. No picture, no sound. It did not go overheat as it was turned on after lunch and maybe running for two hours. Are cheaper tv set easily deffected? Common sense yes, but it's their cost. The problem we can't locate it's warranty. My daughter don't want to have it opened to other tv repairmen, still looking for it's warranty. So to date we can't watch our favorite TV programs and even the news, good however there's internet. Lesson don't settle for cheap appliances.

Where did you buy that kind of TV set? Is that from CD-R King? Because I could see some appliances being sold in CD-R King that they are selling it into cheaper price as well. My boyfriend has plans to avail those kind of cheap appliances as well but I told him not to trust with it at all because he is not sure with that quality. Better to be safe than sorry.

aw you must find the reciept or the warranty card so they can replace it with a new one...its true tv seys nowadays are not built to last just like the old tv sets...maybe its their marketing strategy so you will have to buy a new one after a few years....

Hi Bing, as for my home electricity appliances, i now prefer not to buy cheap appliances anymore. Indeed, i had seen my family spending more money after buying cheaper appliances. I prefer to buy appliances that have good quality with extended warranty services. Because it will be able to save my money much more in the long run.

Be sure to find the warranty! If you can't find it, contact the store where you bought it and ask for options incase you lost the warranty card.

Oftentimes that's the case. Indeed check for QC on your appliances. And take precaution when buying appliances because we often use it at home and it could cost more than buying another set of the same appliance. Substandard appliance/gadgets are unsafe to use, it my cause fire. We dont want that to happen because building a new house is more expensive than buying quality products. And most especially we dont want someone to die.Yes, indeed a very good lesson to learn :D

I try to go with those with an outstanding brand name, or else an extended warranty. I think the ones that are more expensive are a bit more trustworthy as there are more expensive parts in them. I hope you can find that warranty soon so you can send it back to get it fixed. It's best to get it fixed by the company while it's still in warranty, as it can be cheaper and they know how to fix their t.v's.

That sucks, but usually the cheaper the product and more unknown name to your ears, the more likely you're going to have problems with. It's always good to get the name brands that you know and get them if they're on sale for cheap! With that, you'll ALWAYS have a warranty at hand from purchase. Best to keep the documents of the purchases and warranties in a place that's reachable, like a plastic bin drawer!
