Fourth Meal - Do you ever indulge?

So as you all may know, one of Taco Bell's famous ad-campaigns is their "fourth meal" concept, which is supposed to promote the idea of eating sometime after dinner but before breakfast of the next day, hence the "fourth meal" that you can get at many 24HR or open late Taco Bell restaurants. What do you all think of this concept? Have you ever had an actual "fourth meal", or do you go to Taco Bell during their regular hours? I personally believe it is a brilliant way to market themselves, and I love the fact that they are open this late. Now I wouldn't say that I go out of my way to specifically have a "fourth meal", as I enjoy going to Taco Bell for lunch or even dinner, but make no mistake, if it's 2AM or something and I am hankering for a taco or burrito, I know for sure that I'm going to grab myself a "fourth meal." Overall, I think this is definitely a great campaign and without a doubt, I associate late night snacking/fast-food cravings with Taco Bell, which shows that it has proven it's advertising worth. Do you agree? How often do you find yourselves eating a "fourth meal?" Finally, I would like to know what you typically order for your "fourth meal." I find oddly enough that it differs from my typical Taco Bell menu selection. For instance, when I go to Taco Bell for lunch I like to get the Nachos Supreme or the Beefy 5 Layer Burrito. But when I'm ordering my "fourth meal," I always have to get at least 2 Volcano Tacos - not sure why. Maybe the heat keeps me going that late haha. Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts on "fourth meal" at Taco Bell!

I don't do a fourth meal. I only eat 3 meals a day sometimes 2. I quit eating 3 hours before I go to bed and if i wake up in the night I don't eat because I get up at 5am every day. So If i'm hungry I just wait til breakfast time at work. I like taco bell but not that much to want to go there late at night. We sometimes go for dinner there but not that often.

It's good that you stick to your routine of three meals a day and you sound very dedicated to getting up at 5am. I agree that it's probably best in this situation to just wait for breakfast. I'm glad you like Taco Bell too though, and yeah, it's a great dinner option!

I so agree with you - Taco Bell is certainly one of my favorite restaurants, their food is just great. And yes the "fourth meal" concept makes me so happy, because for whatever reason, if I crave something in the middle of the night, it is usually a burrito! As for the healthiness of "fourth meal", well that's another topic haha. But no seriously, I have noticed that on days where I crave a "fourth meal", one of my three meals for that day was very light (like only a piece of toast for breakfast), so maybe it balances itself out!

I love Taco Bell's frosty drinks. I usually only buy whatever is the cheapest on the menu for food so I can afford the frosty drinks.
Actually it should only be a snack, not a fourth meal. Like and apple with a little bit of peanut butter. Unless people are skinny, people should have small snacks like a handful of popcorn and a little bit of butter.

I haven't had taco bell in a long time. Usually when I go I get the same thing which is four of their soft taco's and then an order of their potatoes with sour cream and chives. I guess I'd get this at any point in the day. I don't really associate the fourth meal, or a late night meal with taco bell but that could be because I don't see the commercials anymore, and I hardly go to taco bell. I also, though love their tacos, prefer to make my own.

I think many of us are endulged in having another meal after dinner. Some who have had dinner often go to the Pizza House and are still able to eat more pizza. I have nothing to eat after dinner. If I have to, I only eat some bananas or other fruits.
Regarding Taco Bell, I have no idea about it.

Yes I agree - it seems very common these days for people to want to eat a "fourth meal" regardless of whether it is from Taco Bell or not. I guess because after dinner, if we are still winding down from the day or something, we want something to do or maybe more food to pair with a TV show late at night haha. It sounds nice that you eat bananas and other fruits though - talk about a healthy "fourth meal"! If you really don't know about Taco Bell though, I recommend that you check them out, they are a great restaurant offering tacos, burritos, etc.

Their marketing campaign is very ideal here in my country where there are lots of business process outsourcing companies that have employees working on the graveyard shift. As a matter of fact, a lot of fast food restaurants have already 24 hour operations, including foreign franchises like MacDonald's, Shakey's and Starbucks. I'm not yet sure though if Taco Bell has followed suit. But I would love it if they would. I'm one of those fourth-meal persons, and some tacos would be a fresh change to the usual burgers and pizza I eat during those ungodly hours :)

Wow it does certainly sound ideal for graveyard shift employees. I didn't even think of that, but you're right - those late night working people obviously have to eat too, so I suppose the concept of "fourth meal" may be their "first meal" haha. Oh and yes I totally agree - a taco and burrito or even nachos in the middle of the night beats a burger/pizza tenfold in my opinion. It seems to be the perfect "fourth meal" option for me, but then I'm kind of on the other side of the fence. In my area, we have two 24 hr Taco Bells, but no 24Hr Mcdonalds or pizza places. I hope that you get a taco bell near you soon with "fourth meal" so that you can indulge like me!
