I just read news on fake phones were sold in some premises in Kuala Lumpur. Police was raiding suspected malls that sold it. Many tourists were reported to get ripped off. We mylotters had better watch out and are not hoaxed into buying them because the price offered was much too low.

Yes, most of these iphones are manufactured in china. It's reported in the news where people are smuggling iphones to some countries for sale. As long as one is not desperate for Iphones, they won't be cheated at all. No matter what happens, there's no way for an Iphone to be selling way below market price when it's profitable. Consumers are just blinded by greed and when they realized they are being cheated, they make a big fuss over their own greediness.

This also one of the problems of my country. It is very rampant. We can find it anywhere specifically in china town. I guess most of these phones came from China. That is why we call it here China phone. I hope that this will be resolved as soon as possible. It is killing the industry and the companies will be bankrupt.

Another cheat about a phone is that the machine is the used parts, while the casing looks like brand new one. One can tell the difference you see.

This is also a problem in my country. There seems to be a proliferation of fake cell phones in the market. Our customs office is having problems stopping the entry of these fake products. And worse is people are buying them because of the low prices. They don't care if it's inferior in quality or that it may pose some danger in its usage. It's really hard to stop these unscrupulous people from manufacturing and selling fake phones. I guess what we can do is to buy from authorized sellers only.

It's even worse if the fake one is claimed to be teh genuine one and people buy it as the genuine one, right. I doubt the customs officials. Do they work well and do not accept bribery?

I think fake phones are spreading worldwide. The danger of the existance of this kind of phone is that buyers may get ripped off for the wrong phone. They have to be careful and pay attention to the details of the phone. In a glance the fake and the genuine ones look the same.

Lol, I was always aware of fake phones, but I wondered if a person can actually use a fake phone if they wanted to, like myself getting a "fake" iphone 3g when its called the iX (insert 2 digit number for X) But the specs from the phones isn't all that bad, but I don't condone fraud for selling something that isn't. What do you think about this?

It's getting hard to get clean money nowadays. Many sellers want to have a big profit easily. Selling fake phones are now worldwide. I thought at the beginning that it was only in my country as I have seen many similar cases here. The best way to get an original phone is we buy it straight from the phone's official dealer.

It is sad that people would try to scam another like that. People are always wanting the newest and best phone and so some are vulnerable to scams like that. Glad you let us all know, though I doubt here in the USA we'd be affected by it.

In the Philippines, Fake phones is everywhere! It is one of the most common trend. People were so interested with it because it is cheap. This Fake phones are made in China. I had this kind of phone before. I owned 3 Fake mobile phones. It was great to use but as time passes by, I didn't support buying fake phones because of the intellectual property.
