Do you have the habit of placing a small plant in front of your computer?

Please explain why placing a small plant in front of your computer is good for you. I would think it would just get in the way and you would have to move it all the time, there is also the chance that you would get your computer wet when you watered your plant.

I fell terribly sorry when I see the discussion,because I have told myself many times to potted some plants near my computers in the dorm. It is really good for us to do like that what would make me in a good mood when I fell tired sometime. But it's a pitty that I fail to put the plan into practice. I have to cultivate plants or flowers round my computer.

I do not have plants on the same table as my computer. I would be afraid of getting water on the computer. However, I have all of my houseplants indoors right now because of the winter weather, and they are all around me in the room on other tables and in windows. Houseplants are good for your body and your mind.

It is a good idea to have some small plants nearby the computer. I think it may give you fresh air and the pollution or radiation can be less. I heard that the best plant is the cactus. You shall put it nearby your computer. I love China

I do not, but I feel as though I should just to brighten up the office where my computer is a little bit. That would be nice, and it always helps to get a little oxygen in your system and bring a little life indoors. Happy MyLotting!

I don't have the habit of that but do wish I did have the room for it. My desk is always so cluttered and I have clean it off every so often enough. I think a plant would just get smothered by the rest of the stuff I have on it. I like the idea though.

When I still study, I have a bonsai on my desk but now that I am married and a businesswoman, I don't have because there's no place to put it but I am planning to buy a new plant to put infront of my desk to inspire me. :)

It is near the computer but it is not a habit. I do it sometimes. I have to move back the plant in the evening because the plant is not good to be in the house at night.

Plantation is a very good habit friend. keep it up. I will also try to do the same in future. But till now i have not done this kind of deed near my computer or dormitory. One of my friend does the same nearly a month ago. I also planted tree in my school days.

This sounds like a good idea, I've seen lots of people doing this. The area whether a work/study or pleasure place takes on a whole new meaning. Nope, I don't have that habit. But it's a good thing don't worry. But I think you need to put the plant out every morning to get sun. But you can also choose a plan that can live inside a house without sunshine. :)

I dont have that habit but if you think that strange then i have one. i put my betta fish tank near my computer so that i can see my pet swimming every time i glance away from the monitor. I just love looking at it , vibrant color and it makes me happy. I know it can be dangerous because it contains water and near electricity.... but what can i do i love my betta fish :D

yes, it is a good idea.But keeping a plant infront of computer is a boring thing we should pour water to the plantand its a time taking process, but its a good idea.

Yes, it is quite healthy. Now, that you mentioned it, I'm planning to do it myself! A plant provides lots of fresh air during the day which can increases your efficiency in whatever work you're doing. So, it's a great plan.

I love green plants and have few in my living areas but not in my computer areas. I have never thought of putting plants on my computer table. It maybe beautiful but i find it adds more clutters and an obstruction to my working place.

I think this is a good habit and one that I should probably try and spread around too. Having plants around would probably help a lot not only ourselves but the environment as well. I always thought that it could be a good idea to have potted plants on roofs of buildings. It's a small responsibility but the effects are beneficiary to a lot.

I place the different plants outside the room on the wall of the balcony. I have quite a few flower pots for planting different kinds of plants that are easy to grow or plant. I love to see them all the year round. Thank you for the discussion, xb.

I have a different outlook on this. I refrain from putting things in front or even on the desk where my computer is at. I just like to keep it simple and bare as much as possible. I find that I work better with less clutter. Besides, my work table is just beside the window and I can easily see the trees and plants outside. I'm on the first floor of my house and the garden is just outside my window.

I have a small plastic one next to my laptop. Not because of the laptop but because of the table my laptop is on. So it doesn't look like an ugly desk.

I haven't tried it but I will. It may be beneficial as you've said, perhaps lessen the radiation? I have small plants in the living room and garden, but I haven't tried putting it there..
