Indian squa for Asia Cup Announced..Sehwag, Zaheer Rested.. Kohli Vice captain..

Selectors have refrained from making wholesome changes to the squad, sticking to tried and tested with minor changes in team composition. They are backing the pros, to gain the confidence and form back on pitches that favor their style of play. Sehwag has been totally out of sorts and he also seems to have fitness issues. Zaheer and Umesh too seemed to be carrying niggles and needed to be rested. So let's hope the Indian team does well in Asia Cup.

It's good to see the chance for the Old players like yousuf and irfan. And better think is kohli as a wise caption for training of captionship for the future team. He has already shown as a good Caption in the Under 19 Worldcups. He is the caption brings us the Under 19 world cup. So all the Best to our team India to Win this Series.

I think this is a better squad. The selectors haven't done much changes to the current squad, just few changes. Sehwag was not playing up to his best, so its better to drop him. And Sachin is not dropped, its very good chance to score his hundred. India have chosen one of the better & strong squad available at the moment. Zaheer was having some fitness issues, so there is nothing wrong in dropping him. Y Pathan got a good opportunity to regain his form and play well, Hope Dinda will play well. I think Ojha/Harbhajan should have taken into the squad. This is a good squad consisting of some seniors and youngsters.

Yes dont call Sehwags exclusion as 'rested'.He was dropped is the right way to put it. Yes these home tigers will scored by millions on these flat pitches. Another thing is the pampering that has begun to Kohli. He has only begun his international career. yes its true he has a few good innings under his belt. But lets not go over board praising him.

I think they should be playing with Zaheer in the squad. Kohli has played quite well recently better than any player in the present tour. It will be interesting to see how he handles the responsibility of being a vice captain. Sachin will be etting his 100th 100 very soon surely. this will be a pleasure to watch master playing against Indian subcontinental teams.

Performance counted for selection, the best example is the selection of Ashok dinda ahead of some senior bowlers. Well done Krish ! Yusuf Pathan also given chance as per his performance in local matches. I will accept the selection of sachin and dhoni. Because sachin is really in good nick but his unluckyness keep him away to score big score. Dhoni has to be there, he doesn't need so much rest.

I think most probably Sehwag will get enough rest because considering the huge schedule including the IPL most probably players would have get burned out and tired. I think it is wise to rotate the players. I would have given rest to Dhoni also before the IPL and I think players should be rotate and rested and also given chances and not be kept out for longer time.

Hi venkit, It is pleasing to see Virat Kohli promoted to Vice Captain. he is the future captain of India and need to be trained in that department. In general the team selected looks to be good and balanced but still feel that Habhajan should have been included. There is still some cricket left in him, at least selectors could have tried him for this series. After doing so much for Indian cricket he deserves a better treatment. Another name I feel missed is Pragyan Ojha, he bowled so well in West indies series. Ashok Dinda is new promising player and his inclusion in the team is welcome one.

i just saw the news that Indian team has decided for next tournament and i got surprised that they did not take sehwag ,zaheer and umesh yadav.well it is very unfortunate that they have decided to play without these player.and i am sure they will miss them in that Asia cup.i think they should gave one chance to sehwag.but it is India all thing can happen here.

It is a great team selection by selector. Here i am notice two bengal players dinda and tiwary picked up. I am very happy for it. Because there have many talanted players. But does not flick in big match or odi. But tiwary got a century againts west indise. But i am shocked when i did not see him any match againts australia or srilanka. And dinda prove himself in ranji. So hopefully india will win asia cup. And yusuf pathan is a tallented player. Who can cahange impossible to possible. And virat kohli's promotion for vice captain. Its also a great choice by selector. Because virat can take resposibility to win. Hopefully we will get lot of success from this team. And india will champion of asia cup.
