Keep it hot after meals...

One bad practice I've learned over the years: Drinking cold beverages right after a meal. I always thought it helps refresh me after a good meal. As it turns out, it makes it hard for the digestive system to break apart the food you just ate, especially the fatty oils, which cold drinks actually solidifies. It is highly recommended to drink warm water or hot beverages as it helps dissolve fats and makes it easier for the stomach to digest the food.
My preference is drinking hot tea, my favorite of which is mint-blend full leaf tea. It is equally refreshing, healthy and also helps to clean my throat of any food that gets stuck in there, by propelling the food into my stomach. I know, I'm trying hard to sound to be scientific but at least I think that's how it works. If I ran out of tea (which usually costs a lot from where I am), I drink coffee instead, which I enjoy nevertheless.

that's actually absolute nonsense.
anything you eat or drink quickly reaches the temparature of your stomach.
fats do not solidify inside you when you have a cold drink. that is a known fact.

so drink what you enjoy during and after meals. whether they are hot or cold will not make a difference to yor digestion.

Well, that's good news then. We should all drink and be merry!
What's not really good news is when one reduces a post and calls it "absolutely nonsense," instead of politely objecting to the topic, especially when the article you quoted actually disproves the claim that drinking cold water can cause cancer-- something I've never mentioned in this post.
Happy drinking!

I have also heard the same thing from some people, i think it is because people are usually fun of eating oily foods and that as we know oil solidifies in cold temparature. The more solid it is the much harder for our body to break down our food intake.
I know that it is really much healthier to drink warm drinks after meals but i still prefer drinking cold ones becase it feels much more refreshing as compared to warm drinks. Although i would also like to try living a healthy life, drinking warm beverage would be one of those i would need to learn in the future besides learning how to eat vegetables someday. :)

When I was in grade 6,that was the only time I got used in drinking tap water.I only drink cold water with an empty stomach or when I eat non-meat products or fatty foods. My uncle gave me red tea for Christmas.I'll experiment with it by combing it with milk,my all time favorite beverage.

Hi Almighty, i always prefer to have a cup of warm tea with added sugar after having my lunch or dinner. It makes me feels refreshed especially after i had eaten some oily food. I always make sure that my home have enough supply of tea. In case there is no supply of tea, then i will drink warm water. Sometimes, i even cook some delicious warm soup to accompanied our dinner. In fact, my family just loves to drink something warm especially especially during dinner time, since most of the time the weather is cold. Especially during raining days.

Wow thank you very much to that idea. Now I realize how come there are foods inside my body that can't be burnt easily. That must be my practice for now that I shouldn't drink cold beverages after the meal. I am going to do that as part of my habit as well.

You learn something new every day! Thanks for sharing almighty
I would usually drink a glass of fruit juice with my dinner and about an hour or two later I would have a coffee. Perhaps I'll start drinking green tea with my dinner to aid in digestion as I do get quite a bit of bloating and discomfort when I've had dinner.
