the motorcycle drivers highly disapprove of this. It is fr everyone's safety anyway...I think it is time to control them- they have become so many these days and are usually the cause of accidents too. I rally don't like motorcycles since they are always in a hurry, sometimes racing with others... and don't follow any lane at all- they even occupy the pedestrian lane...just to be first when the light goes green.

So maybe their reason of not liking the motorcycle lane is that they cannot overtake those cars because i saw them always doing that. But in my opinion, it would be indeed safer for them that they have their own lane. That way, they are safe from being side swept by those big vehicles or any cars for that matter.

Having separate lanes for motorcycles is a good way to lessen accidents in Philippines. You are right, motorcycle drivers are just driving in high speed and they don't even use their side mirrors. Hope this will be consistently implemented for everyone's safety.

me too, i have some really bad thing for those who rides motorcycles. i mean, they are causing too much problems already on the streets and they all act as if the cars should always be the one who should be cautious and not them. Most of the accidents have been caused by them, actually.

It's good to have a separate lane for motorcycles also because of the reasons you mentioned. Accidents can be avoided when we have this kind of traffic management. However, I think placing the motorcycle lane in the inner lane of a highway is not a wise decision. It's very risky for the motorcycle drivers because they are sandwiched by the bigger vehicles. More importantly, these bigger vehicles occupy the motorcycle lane and these pose risk to the motorcycles. If the motorcycle lane was in the outer lane, not in the place where passenger vehicles unload and load passengers, in the other outer lane, I guess it would be safer.

I agree with this one. These motorists are causing a lot of accidents and trouble these days. They just popped from somewhere and when you hit them- they get mad and most of the time, they do not admit their fault. I wish our government will take proper action with this matter- soon!

its all about the dicipline of a motorcycle user......but most of the time motorcycle user have no dicipline in riding a motorcycle and they feel like they are the king of the road ...they always do overtake on the road...so it will be a good thing if there will be a separate lane for motorcycles..

I like real motorcycles. Harley Davidson. Not the japanese racing motorcycles that whiz in and out of traffic and scare me so badly. Maney accidents are caused by the operators of such machinery. Responsible drivers of HD don't usually race. I don't like the seperate lane idea either.

I guess we should just allow them to have the left land, which is essentially the passing lane. A lot of motorcyclists drive fast, but so do some guys in big trucks or in fancy BMWs or pretty much anyone who is a little bit of a lead-foot (including me sometimes). I just try to get out of their way if they are behind me (unless there is only one lane on the road or we're on a residential street, then I don't care).

I'm actually in favor of this. It's not the solution but it's a start. Accidents involving motorcycles are mostly due to their zigzagging and crisscrossing way of driving. And like you said, there are really too many of these two-wheeled vehicles out on the streets. Confining them in a certain lane may help minimize accidents if those people driving motorcycles would abide by it. The problem is they still go to other lanes when it's traffic.

The only problem is most of the motorcycle drivers will not follow this, just like yesterday, in the motorcycle lane, instead of motorcycles, there are cars...Why don't they also discipline the car drivers? If they want to fix this, there should be a lane for each type of cars, if a car or motorcycle violates this then they get a ticket.

I agree on that there must be really a lane for motorcycles. Because in the first place who they usually blame if they have already encounter the accidents? Isn't that usually the huge vehicles or the normal sizes of vehicles like cars, trucks and buses? In the first place it is not easy for the other vehicles to notice them especially if the drivers are on trucks that they will look down under. Literally speaking this is like an insect that can't be easily seen by other vehicles. If they don't want to die early then they should really follow the rules. The problem with most of them they are totally stubborn.

If they don't want those lanes, then let them go where they will meet their accidents. While I do not have anything against motorcycle drivers, many of them are "undisciplined" as far as using motorcycles is concern. I observe many of them ride like they wouldn't die, like they own the road.

Yes, motorcycle accidents are always in the news and I think happens everyday.Regarding the motorcycle lane that is implementing right now,it is quite complicated the fact the some vehicles are also crossing that lane that sometimes could lead accident between motorcycle and some vehicles like car or bus.

Argh, there are very annoying. one time, one motorcycle driver scratched our car and when my dad beeped for that idiotic driver, the driver just went away straight and never even turned back. motorcycle drivers are one of the worst, most annoying and most selfish b@stards you will encounter on the road. they don't follow lanes, just go through anywhere, show up and disappear, speed up too much and cause a lot of accidents, traffic jams and deaths! I don't know why those drivers would disapprove, that would be better for them so that they wouldn't have to share lanes with bigger cars that could possibly harm them or they can harm. arg,

A lot of motorcycle accidents have popped up in the news lately. I guess this is due to their lack of discipline on the road. Also, since they are very fragile as compared to regular cars, vans, jeeps, and buses, they tend to get into accidents quite often.
