Never Seen Something Get So Much Attention!

Birthday Cake - This was my sister's birthday cake for her 30th recently.

Hey everyone! It was my younger sister's 30th birthday a couple of weeks ago and we (family a friends) had arranged a kind of party, meal, drinks, pub, club the works! Another one of my sister's and I put our heads together to come up with this great idea for a birthday cake, given that you can't really get anything out of the ordinary in a local supermarket. I inquired in a local bakery here, they could do nice cakes but nothing 'naughty' if you know what I mean. We had in mind what we wanted but turned our search to the internet, found the cake we wanted (see below) and organised for another bakery to make it for us. It was a Black Forest cake with icing on top. Anyhow, we had arranged for the staff to bring the cake out after our meal, and all heads turned to see this monstrosity coming out of the kitchen. The roars of laughter was something else. The birthday girl was mortified when she saw the cake. Embarrassed? Not much! What do you think of the cake? A work of art? Would yo go for something like this if you were choosing a birthday cake for someone or would you be happy/not if someone bought this cake for you? IrishGal77 :)

What a face your sister must have made! Now this is something that friends and I would do to each other, not something I would do with a family member, but mostly because my family and I aren't that close. It'd be a nice and cute little gag, and to have it done publically, that would have been even worse / funnier. I think if this was done to me I would just laugh my behind off, and not think anything of it.

Hi SomeCowgirl, Thanks for responding. Well, needless to say that she made the right facial expression for what the cake had been intended!!!!! That's true it may not be suitable for all relationships, luckily I am close to my sisters now after being years apart and you'd have to really be close to someone to give such a cake. Haha, good one IrishGal. If someone brought that out for my big 3-0 in a couple of years, I'd have no issues with it at all, I'd suck it up and blow lol I also wouldn't hesitate to bring something like that out to my sister or other family member. Makes it all the more fun trying to decide who eats what slice lol

Now that that one's done, I will have to think up of some other cake for a couple of years time when my baby sis turns 30. Gotta have a special cake for a 30th!! Haha! I could only imagine the faces of the guests and the birthday girl! For sure I would melt with embarrassment if such a cake was made for me! hhehehe.. Anyhow, it's fun and I don't think any pun was intended, so I hope you guys had a great fun. By the way, how did the cake taste? Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Hi laydee, Thanks for responding. My sister was slightly embarrassed when she first saw the cake but she knew that our youngest sister and I were concocting some plans for her birthday and knew that one of those were something to do with the cake. Knowing us, she had an idea that it had to be naughty!! The faces of all those in the restaurant were a picture, nobody was or at least looked disgusted, so a lot to be said for the Irish sense of humour! ;) The cake tasted lovely. It was Black Forest like; a chocolate sponge with cherry syrup, it was covered in icing (so you couldn't eat too much in one sitting) and had a small bit of cream around the 'you know where' Lol! this is quite an interesting design of a cake and very much attractive too. I will surely prefer this newly designed innovative cake to get on my birthday as well as try to gift someone else too on a specific occasion. this is surely a work of art and genuine creativity.

Hi amitpro, Welcome to myLot and thanks for responding! Yeah it was definitely creative and very tasty! The idea was pulled from the internet, there were loads of unusual cakes and not just rude ones. But this one seemed fitting for our sister! Wish I had a talent to make cakes like that. IrishGal77 :)

Oh my god, If I gave that cake to my sister she would probally never speak to me again, that is truely hilarious nonetheless. I don't think I would choose that for my siblings, but definately for a friend, a close friend. Nice share.
