The IT industry pays more than the garments factories not unless you are a production manager or supervisor. If you are a sewer, quality inspector or trimmer, you only receive the minimum wage. Some garment companies pay through piece rate basis meaning the amount of pay is equivalent only to your output. If you are fast you get to earn more. IT's are paid more than the garment factory workers because they have special skills gained from education and experience.

The garment industry is a very lucrative business by itself. The information technology business is also very important. Both these business ventures promises good climate in the country yet more people invest in the information technology ventures because many local as well as foreign firms needs our well trained personalities from the call center agents that the information technology is capable of supplying highly skilled agents to their companies who needed our services. The garments industry is not so attractive to possible investors because most people are attracted to garment products from foreign sources instead of buying local brands the imported ones are sold out first.

I agree with your point that we people dont buy local garments. But, now recently there are many local brands are introduced and people starts buying local garments also. The only thing we miss on garment industry is foreign investors. Hope soon we can get foreign investors.

Hi, You are right. Garment industry is not paying like garment industry. Because it is based on the foreign countries. So they can pay higher salary. My son is also working in the well known IT company.
