did you realise that all of us at one time or another has broken the law without knowing. For example in the UK Any person found breaking a boiled egg at the sharp end will be sentenced to 24 hours in the village stocks (enacted by Edward VI). This can be a good thing as the next time my wife gives me a hard time because it is that time of the month i can get some peace by having her incarcerated in the tower of London. Another law is the following, It is illegal to be drunk on Licensed Premises (in a pub or bar). I expect that is a lot of lawbreakers in the UK When was the last time you broke the law and did you realise it? Both these laws can be found at http://www.dumblaws.com/laws/international/united-kingdom

I can honestly say that the last time that I broke the law was earlier today, but I knew that I was doing it. Before that, the last time that I broke the law was yesterday, and I knew that I was doing it then too. You see, I have a bit of a lead foot when it comes to driving and that is the way that I've been breaking the law on an almost daily basis. Of course, I will drink too much from time to time as well.

i think we all get a bit impatient and suffer from leadfoot disease, especially when trying to get home from work on a friday!

im from the uk and it not illegal to be drunk on licensed premises. you can get arrested for being drunk an disorderly though. we have a smoking ban over here now so you cant smoke indoors or under shelters or anything. smoking age went up from 16 to 18 about 4 years ago. i was a bit annoyed at this because i had just turned 16 when it changed. i cant really remember the last tim i broke the law though. sometimes when you do something you dont realise it is against the law. i am pretty sure that it is illegal not to recycle here and i dont recycle things so that is probably my answer.

Hi Laura, i've been manager of several bars and believe it or not it is illegal to serve a drunk person. it is very seldom enforced but for example if someone stays in the same pub all day and leaves drunk and comes into your pub and the police see you serving him/her one drink they can charge you. never heard of it being done but it is part of the personal licence course. i never recycle to my shame but i think that is because our council does not have a recycle policy so very few people do. the smoking ban sure has changed pubs! i find it amazing to think back to smoke filled pubs with nicotine stained walls! You're probably too young to remember that.

thats mad. never would have thought it was against the law to serve a drunk person. the trouble with laws is that a lot are unclear and not many people no them. how do they expect everyone to know all of the laws? another point with that law is how do they know the limit or alchohol for everyone?how drunk does someone have to be before they say you cant be served any more? i dont recycle because its confusing. different things go in different coloured bags and go out to be collected on different days. i cant be bothered with it to be honest. i do remember when you smoke in pubs and restaurants. i think that its agood idea to ban smoking in restaurants but they have gone too far to ban it in some places like in presincts or close to doors. its also annoying when you go out and you have to go out side to have a smoke. is there any countries where there is a smoking ban?did you know that in wales we now have to pay 5p for every plastic carrier bag we get from a shop. i cant see it being long until they introduce that law in england aswell.

I have to believe that the last time I broke the law was speeding in my car. That seems to be a common break the law incident.

hi ajk there used to be some laws about spitting on the sidewalks so I am guessing I have broken that one several times walking into the grovery store after cou ghing and yes, spitting it out on the sidewalk. gross I know. yuck a lady should never do that,at least where anyone can see her.There are so many old laws that are laughable now.
@ajk111 (2495)

Hatley, i am so shocked! spitting on the sidewalk the strange thing about these laughable laws is that many of them have never been revoked so in theory we could still be charged with them.

I suspect the vast majority of those have been repealed, supplanted or otherwise become defunct (much like the one about practising archery for two hours every weekend for national defense). The last time I broke the law was today, at a guess, since I drove to go shopping. There are so many rules that habitual drivers ignore I could probably have been charged with dangerous driving even though I'm a million times safer than most people!

it's the 90 yr old blue rinse drivers who go everywhere in second gear peering over the top of the steering wheel that laws should be made about.

That would be on my way to Mom's yesterday on the highway when I drove over the 65 mile per hour speed limit for a minute. Got away with it this time. Don't do it very often. I just enjoy getting out when I do now, so I'm in no hurry to get anywhere, so I just take my sweet little ole time and let everyone else just pass me by!

In India laws are meant to be broken. There is not a single situation where laws are not broken and that too broken by those who introduce these laws. You must be reading about how Indian is trying to control corruption on a war footing - corruption by law makers. As for me I suppose I have broken laws without my knowing that I break them. Is crossing roads anywhere and everywhere against the law? Sometimes I feel ignorance is bliss and I prefer to remain ignorant so that I live a sane life.

Hi ajk The nearest date to break law! Day before yesterday. I ate food from hotel (restaurant). The result - I have been suffering from upset stomach since yesterday and it is just worsened my illness. For me, there have been two sets of laws since 2005. One are the ones set by the government (I rarely get a chance to break those as I dont drive much these days) and the other set - laid down by my doctors (since 2005) and re-enforced by my wife(she plays the Cops here - guarding these laws and ensuring I abide by them). She is away these days and I get a chance to break the second set... Only this time it went awry

i know that second set of laws very well! my wife also enforces the Drs rules but sometimes i manage to break them. afterall, how boring would life be if we did not have a sneaky law breaking moment?
