I have always been an avid reader since I was little. Not to long ago I was at the Thrift Store browsing for books. I came across about 14 books by the same author. So I picked one up and scanned it. So, for $50 I came out of the with most of the series. It was just missing a couple of the books. Well, let me tell you I started one and the next thing I know I am staring at the floor. I have read them all lol. I have looked at other books by him and found another series call Virgil Flowers. So I download them to my Kobo. They next book out from him is not until May. I can hardly wait lol.
Anyone else a fan of his or someone else who writes action/thrillers very similar????

I really enjoy all of John Sandford's books. He is a great author. It is hard to put down his books until you are completely done with them. I am sure you are very happy with your collection. Now you just have to find the missing books for it to be complete.

Oh it is great that you have chatted with his son. I am also a fan of James Patterson. I also like Stuart Woods. He has some great characters that I get into. I guess I really just love to read period!

He's great. For a long time James Patterson was my fav but now they are both a close tie. I pass along books so that someone else can enjoy them. I've chatted with Sandford's son, he is his web master. It's great being able to chat about the books and find out what's coming up next!

Well i like John Stanford's prey series too. I aside from reading romance novel, i seem to like action/thrillers too particularly a serial killer in action. I love how the author portray the mind of a psychologically impaired person and the reason why they become like that. So interesting ,so intriguing and always worth reading.

That's what I like about thriller books as well. I also read true crime as well. Makes you wonder about these crazy people. I am not into romance novels lol....I have the real thing with my hubby. Plus they make me cry lol.

I like Sandford, too. I actually think I like the Virgil Flowers books better than the Prey series. I have been reading thrillers, suspense and mysteries for years. Some authors I have recently discovered in this genre that I really like are Gregg Olsen, P.J Parrish and James Swain. My longtime favorites are James Lee Burke, George Pelecanos, Robert B. Parker, Michael Connely and Ed McBain. You might also enjoy Lee Child and Stephen Hunter. I also love the REAL old school guys like Ross MacDonald and Raymond Chandler, often referred to as "hard boiled detective" novels. (Richard) Lochte - he goes by a four-letter version of this name, which starts with D and ends with k. Can you believe myLot won't allow this word in my post?! - and Loren Estleman are more contemporary examples of this type.

I love both. I think I like the Prey series better because it was the first of his that I read. Thank you for the names of those authors. I have them written down and will look for them over the weekend. I love thrillers and action packed books. There is nothing better than starting a book and not being able to put it down!
