I am not a teacher. But I was a student before. I always hope that the teachers can be nice, fair and understanding. If you are friends with your students, it will be ideal. Let them study happily. Do not give them more pressure as the students have already suffered high pressure. If you are nice to them, I think they will do the same to you, too.
I love China

Teaching school is a difficult job. You must be stern, but not unfair or harsh. You also have to remember that your job is not to make the students happy! And that you do not have to try to be thier friend. And the key to classroom discipline lies in being consistent.

Yingtang: You are teaching for students of which class? Is it in a school or in a college?
I find it difficult to teach students of certain classes in college. some classes are good. Tolerance is required more.

It depends on what kind of people you teach and what part of the brain they use.
Left handed people use the right part of their brains, there are also other people who use that part of the brain more. So if you use that part of the brains you are more able to remember/learn by seeing pictures as words.
How to teach and how to get the message also has to do with culture, age etc.

I think you teach them by playing a short game. Then it is very easy to you and the students also.

Dear friend,
I feel teachnig is another talent as learning. Moreover, at times I feel sad for those kids who have to take heavy burden on their head. I feel teaching would be much better if it is taught through a playfull way may be through enjoying learning and getting happiness. I wished not to hurt those kids or students. Moreover let them learn through enjoying it rather crusing it. I feel there are some learning problems in students that have to rectified first before punishing them without known the actual hidden problems. Wish u all the best and your students.

It is really a difficult task. Try being not just a teacher to them but also a friend. Kids are kids, but they will outgrow their naughtiness. Be strict when you need to, but don't forget to laugh with them, or give them a sincere pat at the back to show that they have a friend in you, too. Be patient, teacher. Teachers always remain in our memories, good or bad.

You are only 21 and yetyou already have a serious job, like teaching?
Wow, I'm impressed.
Regarding your problem with children.
What age are they? Your approach should be different from age to age.
Mainly, you first have to impress them, with something they enjoy doing, like a field trip, or something like that.
Then, you should try and gain their trust. After that, you can make them do anything.
If that doesn't work, your only chance is to rule by an iron fist. Become more authorutary, and do not allow them to do anything they want. If they do, you ground them. If they settle down and behave, you reward them. It is very simple.
