Money doesn't bring stress to people with the right attitude. It is said in the Bible that "the love of money is the root of all evil" and I believe that to be true. As people amass more and more money they begin to worship it and plan how to get more and more of it. Greed takes over. That's when having money becomes stressful. If person has money to spare but uses it wisely there is no stress.
For instance, a person with more money than they need can save towards their old age so they won't be a burden on others. They can give the rest of that extra money to good causes such as their church/synagogue/mosque to help their fellow parishioners and/or donate to any number of good causes that help people who have no money and no means to earn. Their money can help with job training, child care, health care, education and all the other things that benefit people and lift them out of poverty.
Bill Gates is a good example. He is not stressed. He lives comfortably and uses much of his extra money to improve the lives of people around the world. John Huntsman is a billionaire who funds a special cancer hospital that treats people at no cost to them and his ambition is to die a pauper, having given his wealth away to improve the lives of children.
It's all in your attitude. If you worship money you will have stress created by greed. If you USE money for unselfish purposes there is no stress.

I don't really think that is always the case, but I do think that there are some times that having more money does lead to the ultimate breakdown in a family. The reason that I say when there is more money there is more stress at times is because of the fact that it takes a lot of time to make the additional money and that means that there is less time that is spent in family situations.
In addition to that, there are times that people that have more money are more greedy and that isn't a good thing either.

I would be kind of inclined to agree to say the very least. Or at least a comfortable amount of money leads to a minimal amount of stress. Having both too much money and not enough money leads to stress, but it is a different amount of stress. When you don’t have enough money, you will worrying about a lot of things but that is nothing really compared to those who have a great amount of money.
If you have a great amount of money, pretty much everything about your life. You wonder if you have friends that like you or just merely your money. And you have to worry about managing every cent. And then the more money you have, the more taxes you have to worry about. That is really just something to really consider and worry about. Money is a powerful thing and stress happens with any amount, but there are times where the stress differs.

I agree with you and I envy those people at the sidewalk who is enjoying their day. They have little obligation, all they have to earn a day is what they will put on their stomach. Unlike people like me who are working, though I earn more than they do, but my obligations are bigger... a mistake may mean not only my salary, my work but maybe my entire life. Sometimes, I do wish I have ample cash for the education of my two daughters, then I will retire by establishing my own small store and just cater the little children who wants to buy candies. I wish I am like the mothers in my daughter's school, all they have to do is to fetch their child, am, noon and pm. If I am as free as them, then I have all the time in the world to teach my daughters, and that would mean happiness for my children.

I totally disagree! I have had lots of money before, and I have been moneyless before, and I have to admit, I experienced more stress being without money, than when I had lots of money! When I had lots of money, everything went a lot smoother and worry free, and I was even able to help others, and this made me feel good, and stress free !

Agree, because the more money you have, you will invest it into many things, you will buy many things that you don't have and it will ended up into stress. But if you have less money enough to buy you things for your daily expenses you will not be so greedy of things.

Too much money leads to more stress and too little money also leads to stress and worries. Follow the golden mean.Earn enough so that you can save for the future and become self sufficient and totally independant. You should be able to live comfortably on your own without having to ask from others.Live within your limits and do not overspend. If you have excess money use it to help those in need and do not hoard it like a miser. When you die you will carry nothing with you.

Yes, I agree with you on that terms "More money more stress, less money less stress"
because I have experienced myself. Last time I was earning thousands ringgit and I have to pay many bills like telephone, petrol, food and groceries. Nowadays, I earn less and I don't drive my car anymore, I don't pay for petrol, and I sold off my handphone so I am responsible for my food and groceries only. I think when financially is low the only way is to use less thus you will worry less of other things, am I right?

Hi! i would say that when one has less money the more stress there is. Me myself has less money and i am always stressed because i have to make ends meet. Everytime i receive my take home pay, i have to budget it to all our needs. The electricity, water, house amortization, internet connection, credit cards payments, food for the following week, transportation allowance for me and my daughter and miscellaneous needs. When we get sick, i have nothing left already for our medicines and doctor's fee. See, how stressful would that be. But when i have lots of money, i would not worry because i can pay for all my bills. I wont have debts either and i wont be needing credit cards because i can pay cash. When we get sick i can pay my doctor and buy medicines. So i would say that more money, less stressful.

I somehow agree with you. Look at those rich businessman. Yes they may have a lot of money and they can travel around the world. But they have lots of burdens, problems which we don't know. Some of them may even look so rich but nope, they have a lot of loans to pay. Personally, I am happy to have just enough money. I can't travel to different countries or enjoy local trips, buy expensive stuff, but I am glad that somehow I can buy some of the things I want and what is important is that I can eat the foods I want too.
The only stress people with less money can have is when we need money urgently for an important purpose.

I think I should agree with you. People who are wealthly tend to live in a very stressful way. You see rich people tend to protect their social status and inorder to maintain that name they have to maintain their wealth.
More money, more demands and caused stressful life.

I would say that money itself does not create stress, but the obsession with money. Money after all only has utility value - it allows you to buy food, clothing, housing and other less important things. A lack of money can cause problems in cases of extreme poverty, when the people cannot eat or look after themselves so it is not always that more is worse and less is better.. And then again, there are monks who renounce wealth completely and never own anything except a feeding bowl and the robes they stand up in.. And they are happy.. Money means different things to different people and can't be said to cause anything.. _Derek

A pleasant day Tushavi,
What you have posted is exactly opposite for me. As my situation, if I will really have more money, then it will be less stress for me. The reason why I am really working thoroughly is to earn more and more. And if I earn more, my stress will surely relieve. More money means less stress for me. Hence, less money will surely bring much stress and worries.

I don't think so.there are many stresses to people nowadays. Maybe those who have more money want to invest more and they want to achieve more but not successful ,so they have some stress. But those who canot support themselves or his family can't have stress unless they are not responsible humans.

you are absolutely right more money means more stress and less money means less stress. If less money then we can sleep without tension but if we have more money means lots of tension on our head. I have less money so no tension.

Hmmmm...I don't completely agree with that. I think that worries and stress are only brought upon by the mind. Hence, it can be controlled based on the character and personality of the individual. Whether he is rich or poor, it will just depend on the individual's outlook and mindset in life. It all boils down to how he thinks. Money doesn't really make a difference if the individual's mindset is already fixed and isn't changing. If a person is a worry freak, he will always worry about things regardless of being poor or rich. Just my two cents!

Hi there Tushavi,
I think it is okay to have more money and that if nyou do manage it properly and not let it get to you too much there is no problem. One of the main problems is paying for things to eat education and health care and some3times even though for me money doesn't define my happiness, it would not hurt if youve got some for tuition fees, decent meals and your health mangament.
