I Wish That I Never Came Across Them!

Hi everyone! I recently came across a bag of chocolate sweets in my local €2 shop in town. It says on the bag (which is fairly large I might add) that they are mis-shaped chocolates with a variety of fillings. Chancing my arm I asked the shop assistant if the chocolates were any chance by Cadbury (my absolute favourite brand) and she said 'yes'. Each bag is different so you might get a nice bag or a bag full of nasty fillings! Happy to report that the first bag I have bought only had caramel and Turkish Delight fillings! I hit the jackpot there because they are both my favourites! Trouble is, I am now at the bottom of the bag and feel compelled to buy more. I could eat chocolate till it comes out of my ears and that is not a good thing, especially where the health is considered. Have you got a penchant for anything that you discovered recently or any time in the past that you just love and are sorry that you ever came across? Do share so I don't feel so bad......! I have recently developed a penchant for those Cuisine de France bake 'em yourself rolls and fresh garlic and herb butter - an overdose of either can't be good for the inch or two I'm looking to lose so I can fit back into my clothes lol

Haha, the spuds nearly killed the Irish sure! You really should try that bread with the garlic butter. It's the stuff from SuperValu in the little block 'Garlic and Herb Butter' - it's divine. Pat the Baker, so fresh it's famous! Trip's good, still over here. I landed on time, caught the bus on time and got off at the right stop for my cousin's house. Managed to find the audition venue. Didn't get through, but that's no loss. I clammed up lol, mouth went dry and I simply couldn't sing, I shook like a leaf, which is odd as I can sing when I'm not competing. I entered a competition a couple of months ago and progressed really well throughout the different stages, but it was a pub/hotel setting and I had a mike there. I enjoy my karaoke at the weekend and going home to my own bed, so it's just as well. The queuing was awful, I'd never do it again! RAIN!

Noooooo! I don't have a SuperValu here, got all the other one's except SuperQuinn but am a Dunne's woman myself! Glad to hear that your trip went well and sorry to hear that you didn't get through but you sound upbeat about it so that's good! :) I wouldn't know but I can only imagine what it's like; being on the spot and knowing how important something is to you, the added pressure and nerves that you feel would be enough to make the best of us not perform as well as we would otherwise. Huge pat on the back to you though for taking such a leap and going for it, that in itself is an achievement. IrishGal77 :)

Ach, I'm sure Dunnes will do a decent garlic butter if you take a look in the butter aisle, let me know how you get on with it! That's the thing, the audition wasn't one bit important to me, I was doing it more to please family and friends and for the experience, neither expecting nor particularly wanting to go through (if that makes any sense?), yet I still clammed up. Ah well, you live and learn. I love running my one woman karaoke show at the weekend and coming home to my own bed, to my man and having breakfast in my jammies on my own couch, I couldn't handle that X Factor nonsense anyway lol.

I am not a chocolate lover but wold eat them whenever available, just not those dark ones. Anyway, as for me, I am a cola addict, Coca-Cola brand to be exact as I don't drink much of any other brand, and there were times when I would but the 2 liters or 1.5 liters sized Coke and I I tend to drink them alone. Sometimes, I wish I didn't buy that much because I know it's not really good for the health, but buying the small ones just doesn't satisfy me. I even ones sold a phone I own just to buy myself Coca Cola. I was really broke that day and I couldn't my addiction was geeting the best of me. In fact, I'm having a glass right now. Cheers!

Hi choybel, Thanks for responding. I'm not the biggest fan of dark chocolate either, I think it is an acquired taste and I much prefer sweet things :) Wow, that's a heck of a lot of coca cola to drink in a day and you sound like you have a real addiction; I never knew it could take such a hold. I like it myself but wouldn't sell any of my things so I can buy some. I might sell something I didn't want anymore to buy something else though! Enjoy your drink!! IrishGal77 :)

I admit that I'm really addicted to this drink. The phone I sold was a spare I had and I needed extra ash anyway, but to buy Coke was one of the reason. It was actually the first thing I did when I sold the phone, bought myself a liter of Coca Cola and enjoyed drinking it while watching television.

Chocolate is good for you . They contain flavanoids which help you to feel good, also nutritious, and if you like plain chocolate (greater than 70%) then really good for you. However you shouldn't eat too much chocolate in a day - personally I try to limit myself to less than 10 bars daily. - ENJOY.

Hi Eskimo, Thanks for responding. That's just as well (the news you've given me) cos I am actually eating some of those chocolates right now....just can't help myself! I do try not to eat too many of them though; they're mis-shaped Cadbury Roses that are resold by another company, a bag of 450g for €2. Really can't go wrong with that. I just have to stop eating them in between meals. I had them in the fridge, hoping they'd last longer but I just found that it took away from their flavour. I could never eat 10 bars of chocolate! ;) IrishGal77 :)

Well, similarly, I bought $23.00 worth of chocolate at my work a few weeks ago. I do regret it, and I've not gone through it as fast as I thought I might, but I sure did go through it faster then I should have. I have given a few to people in my family, so in that way I am not eating it all, but should I have gotten it in the first place? No.

Hi SomeCowgirl, Thanks for responding. I'm guessing that that's a lot of chocolate for $23!! Still, you did share so that's not so bad. My son has had a tummy bug and therefore I didn't give him any chocolate till a few minutes ago in case it would run out of him so I've pretty much eaten what's gone by myself. I am a self confessed chocoholic! IrishGal77 :)

Chocolate is not my biggest favorite snack though. I recently discovered I am more into peanuts and barbecue flavored chips. I bought two big bags of those chips from SAM's club the other week; and I bought 2 bags of peanuts from an Asian supermarket the other weekend too. I already finished a bag of each. The major problem is whenever I over eat something, it caused my sore throat. My mom always warn me to cut it down, and eat something healthy.

Hi kingparker, Thanks for responding. I love barbecue flavoured crisps and snacks and dry roasted peanuts but I avoid eating too many of the latter because they give me a very unlady-like nasty side effect!! Thing is with peanuts ans crisps once the pack is opened, it's hard to not keep dipping your hand in, plus the contents go soft within a day or two of the bag being opened. Well that's my excuse! Hope your throat is all better now :) IrishGal77 :)

Hi deodavid, Thanks for responding. Nutella is probably one of the most famous spreads in the world, I loved it on bread as a child and my kids love it on toast and on pancakes. You didn't eat it with a spoon out of the jar did you? Toothache! Ouch! Hope you're all better now :) IrishGal77 :)
