I can't believe animals can be abused, but yet will still go to the abuser when they call them. I think that abusers need to have a tougher punishment then they do now. Most only get a slap on the wrist and the go out and get another pet. I wish all animals could just be loved and happy. How do you feel about the animal abuse laws?
Do you think they should be able to have any animals after they have been found guilty?

I suppose an animal will constantly return to its abuser out of loyalty. I'd like to see exactly the same laws brought into force for animal abusers as for human abusers.

No laws arnt tough enough on animal abusers, in Australia you can be baned from ever having another pet. However I dont think even that is far enough, they should be behind bars after all in a person has the ability to harm a defensless animal then I am sure they would be capable of hurting a child. I used to work in animal welfare and some of the cases that would come through us was enough to make you sick, it really makes you loose faith in humans!

I love my pets. I make sure they get fed, they get to be washed, and they get to play everyday. Every time I see someone's pet being bullied or being hurt, I immediately inform their owners. Animals should be treated with care and respect. I agree that if people have been found guilty of abusing their pets, they should not be allowed to have another pet.
