Dog Bathing

Hi to everyone. I just want to ask what to do when you were bathing a dog. I were a dog owner (my mother, father, and brother said it) so I am responsible of bathing my puppy. In my dog, I use the soap Petgard. It is used for dogs with lice and fleas. I don't think my dog/puppy has a lice or flea but Petgard has a nice smell and if my puppy had fleas or lice, I don't need to worry because I am using an anti-lice and flea. Now, the problem is, when I were bathing my puppy, I was very careful because its mother is Aspin (also known as "asong pinoy"), and her father is Pit bull, and every bath, and splash of water, she "cries" and she "wants" to bite me because I was holding her body. All I want to ask is how to stop the growling and crying also trying to bite me in my puppy.

Hi Brijet,
First of all, I don't know how young your puppy is, but you need to ask the vet if you're aloud to bath him. I have a Golden Retriever, so I have no problem with that, he just enjoys water. You could try distracting him with some toys. In any case, if you say your puppy might get aggressive, you should be strict with him. You wouldn't want to be afraid of your own dog when he gets older...
Good luck!

I agree with you. The other thing to consider is putting a muzzle on your dog until you are able to get the answers you need from your vet.
How old is your dog? Are there qualities about each parents breed that you need to be aware of in your pup?

My goodness if that puppy wants to bite you when you're bathing him I think you better just leave him alone. Maybe he does not want water at all. I really don't know how you can resolve that problem. I do have 3 dogs and all of them behave well even when they are being bathed so I can't really understand why your puppy becomes that wild when bathing.

Some dogs enjoy having a bath and others just can't stand it. I am lucky our dog tolerates having a bath I think because she likes when we let her have a little blow dry afterwards.
Good Friends of mine have a goldendoodle and this dog loves the water, doesn't have to be clean water, she'll jump in a puddle of mud, streams, any water, my friend has a bubblebath and the dog jumps in sometimes before she's even gotten out of the water.
Always stick to dog shampoos or a baby shampoo as these are softest on their skin.
