hi guys. im already 21 and i haven't been to any places other than my hometown. Everytime i asked permission from my dad he doesn't allow me to go anywhere far from home. I don't know if they're just too possesive or they're just scared ? Who among you here have similar situation :)

Most parents have a heard accepting or letting their children go. I think they still believe that you are not mature/responsible enough to go to such places alone. I started living alone when I was around 19 years, so I did not had such an experience with my parents.

Luckily I'm not in exactly the same situation. My parents try not to be too restrictive, but they are not very successful. They still act like I am unable to think for myself and are always suspicious and try to change my mind if I mention my plans to try out something new or go someplace new. That is even despite the fact that I'm 23 already and I've lived alone for a year ...

I think it's weird that at your age you are not allowed to go to an different place. You are an adult or?
So I think there is a very good reason why your dad doesn't want you to leave.
I think you should ask him for this reason.
It's ok to protect your child but as a parent you should also prepare it for the outside world with all it's danger.
As said before I don't have that experience. I left home as I was 15, moved many times, travel when I want and also my parents were always moving or travelling.
My dad always said: if you think you can have a better life elsewhere you should give it at least a try. You can always go back.
So my advice to you: go visit an other place no matter what your parents say and get your own life experiences.

I think you should be allowed to go. You are not that young anymore.
Try to convince them and let them trust you.
Give the best reasons and the best intentions.
They care about you but they have to set you free slowly so you will learn to fly on your own.
