Job Interiewers Who Say They Will CALL You But Don't

I had a job interview on 2/28/2012, they were doing open interview. The guy who interviewed told me to call on Friday if he doesn't call me. I took that as a good sign and I called him Friday but he had stepped out of the office and I was told he would call me back that day. He never call me back! I debated calling today to see what happen and I called. I was told he was not in today but they would have him call me back today but he has not called me back yet. I don't want to seem pushing or desperate but I really want this job! Please tell if you had a similar experience or tell me what you would have done? Thanks!

It happened to me too. She said she'd call but she didn't. Another interviewer also told the same but no call came.

That is the worst feeling. They were once in our shoes and if they say they are going to call you back then they should call you. The job interviewer didn't call me back today either :(

I would have called them like you did, but then seeing as the person you need to talk to is not working I would allow them to try and contact him. It might be that the company have not been able to reach him on his phone. Bare in mind it is Saturday and the chances are people do not want to deal with work matters on the weekend and I would leave it til monday to see what happens, if by monday afternoon you have not had a call i would call them back. I too am waiting for a call about a interview they said I would hear back in 2 weeks and have a day left then the 2 weeks will be up.

Oh yes when it comes to businesses good manners only goes one way, they expect courtesy and punctuality but thet don't practice those things them-selves, they should respect what it means to someone who is out there stressing about getting a job, its just plain rude on their part.

I have had those promises of the recruiter calling back myself, but they never do. No calls, no letters, no e-mails. I understand that they may have a lot of people to interview, and sort that out, but they want us to be professional in these interviews, and they treat them like judge, jury, and executioner. I don't think that outright lying is very professional in my opinion. If you are in need of people that badly, you should be able to make a decision right then and there. None of this, 'let me talk this over with my manager, and I will touch base with you' garbage. That manager should be, if not conducting the interview, at least sit in on it.

employers like it if you make the extra effort to call because it makes you look keen. i would give him a call. its better to look keen than not interested!

In my opinion as a assistant manager, it gets very annoying when people keep calling and calling and calling. But on the other hand its a good thing to keep calling because it shows that you are very interested in the job. Its really a chance you have to take because everyone looks at it differently. If the interview went well then you may want to keep calling and show that you really want the job but if your not real sure it went that well or if you didnt get a good vib from it then you might want to hold back on calling him again until maybe the middle of the week just you wait and see if he is really busy and just not had the time to call you back.

I actually applied to one BPO company who told me that they would call me back as soon as they set up the interview with the Operations Manager. That was in December and have not received any call from them. The most annoying part is that I would receive text messages from the company asking me if I was still interested in the job post that I applied for. The first month, I confirmed that I was still interested but got no reply. Then last month when I was enjoying the beautiful mountains of Sagada, they texted me again. I replied back and got no call again. This coming month if they will again send me a text message, I will call them and tell them how incompetent they are when it comes to handling job applications. I get it when they won't call back. But sending a text message every month?! It's like they're insulting me by saying "you're not qualified, we just want to know if you're still interested even if we won't call you".

I hate it when employers do this. My brother had an interview and they told him they would call him a couple of days ago and that was two weeks ago. It is sad that employers want us to be polite and respect them, but they never have the decency to call us and tell us either way if we got the job or not.

oh yes this happened to me.i believe this is the way they aresaying no to you,but in well shaped way.i always know that,if after an interview i am told that they will call me ,the chances that they actually do sow are 50% or lower.i guess this is the game they play in bussines maners.you don't have to lose your confidence, keep looking for another jobs and who knows maybe is something better for you outthere.
