Our friend Cynthia needs all your prayers.
She has found out that her arteries are seriously blocked, and she needs heart surgery. Jamaica not being the idea place for this to happen, she is traveling to London. Since it is an emergency, the doctor should be able to push her surgery up front.
Cynthia was one of a group of you who were awesome friends and very supportive through my divorce, and I am very hopeful that she will come through this Ok.
But very worried.
Have any of you experienced serious heart surgery due to blocked arteries or known anybody who has gone through it?

As I am still catching up on all of my discussions, I'm the last to know. I saw some thread in here that she was supposed to go to England on Friday (that would be last Friday).
Anyway, I hope she gets through this one! And that we'd all soon see her here with all of her discussions and responses!

I'm just catching up too bounce. It's certainly frightening. I'm sure Cynthia's family must be very worried. I sure hope everything goes OK.
They do marvellous work in surgery these days. I'm sure she will be better than ever.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear this. I'll be praying for her. I've had several uncles withis problem and they came through the surgery although once ended up with a staph infection (gotta love hospitals). Do you know what day the surgery will be?

Thoughts and prayers sent her way. I hope she gets the help she needs quickly. It is horrible that she has to go somewhere else to get help.

Thanks Jill. The timing is the essence as they said I should have it done in 2 weeks and only a miracle would make this happen. But I haven't given up even though I had the Last Rites administered todayJust in case!

Hello dawnald,
My prayers will be for Cynthia to recover quickly and easily.
I have peripheral artery disease. The arteries in my legs are partially blocked and it causes me some pain once in awhile. I take fish oil, coEnzymeQ10, lots of Vit. C and E and Hawthorn berrie extract. When I can't afford those supplements, I feel the difference.
How've you been lately?

I'm doing fine, a bit tired, but fine. Working weekends and going to school during the week.
Glad to hear your life is getting back on track.

Dawny, thanks for posting this. I will pray for Cynthiann, she is an awesome lady. I am glad she is going to London. not knowing just what surgery, I am not sure that I know anyone who has done this. Often they put stents in that open the arteries up and keep them open. Wishing her well, and thanking you for the heads up.

Let us know when you can what they are doing and when. My older sister went to a clinic once for an eye exam and the things they detected there caused them to not let her leave the premises but to have the plaque cleared out of her carotid artery in her neck before she ever went home. Those blockages sneak up on you.

We didn't discuss exactly what the surgery was, but I imagine it's a bypass...

Too far gone for stents! lol Four arteries clogged. One at 100%, One at 95%, the third at 90% and the last was about 85%. I went into shock after hearing about the first three arteries

I had a blocked vein but it was in my brain.I didn't undergo surgery since it would make things worse because the veins in our brain need extra care & people who have cases like these couldn't undergo surgery just like that so now,I'm still crippled but I'm getting by.I know what she's been going through so I intend that everything goes well for her.

Although from my near experience this procedure is not as dangerous as it used to be, nevertheless we will be all thinking of Cynthia and wishing that she is through with her ordeal. My mother had that last year (at 86 years of age) and she is allright. A kiss to her and let us all hope for the best.

My stepmother went through many heart surgeries, the problem might very well have been gallbladder, she sure had a lot of gall to steal from my Grandmother. By removing her gallbladder she seemed to then store up even more gall...
I will wish for Cynthia much love and healing, as always to pray as in to turn the heart or will of the supernatural can be very tricky business. Either way mankind can intervene and all the good of the Universe can be undone in an instant. So with the great technology of mankind we wish that together with the power of the supernatural, that all the forces of man and the universe come together and work for the good of Cynthia.
Blessed Be and Be Blessed,
Peace,
Sincerely,
Gary

Aww Dawn. This is wonderful of you as I need the prayers. Hi Hatley. leave on Friday. The problem is the delay from now to having the surgery as older people are not so readily seen. Dr.'s here have said I should have it done within 2 weeks but only a miracle will make that happen. But I am being positive. It is just very strange when you are told you are dying! lol Please keep praying and I will stay in touch and let you a know when op is scheduled. We just cannot afford the cost of doing it out here.

With my history you'd think I would have to have this too. hehe I don't remember any 'Cynthia' but I certainly hope everything goes okay for her. Heart surgery is always a scarey undertaking but now days it is rather common. It must nerve wracking to think about going through this.

Oh, no!! I was just wondering about her today! I haven't heard from her in a bit. We email fairly often. She has been a wonderful blessing in my life and for many other people too! I will be praying for her!
Yes, my dad has had two heart attacks. The first surgery was the arthroscopy type. But his second surgery was a quadruple bypass surgery and he came through very well. These surgeries can be quite routine for some surgeons and I am praying that she will get a very experienced and knowledgeable one!! Thank you for posting this!! I really love Cynthiann!!

I love you too Rocket. I have to go to the U.K. as the price out here is not affordable. I had tests last Thursday and it came to over half million JA dollars just for the angiogram. Divide that sum by 86 to get a US cost. God is in heaven and He is not asleep and neither does he wear pyjamas. Please pray
