When making decisions, do you most of the time rely on you instinct or completely disregard them? Do you believe your instinct/gut feeling all the time? Has instinct save you from making a big mistake? Where do you think instinct came from? I want your ideas on this please share your thoughts because I am about to make a decision that might change the course of my life. I am confused whether to rationalize things or go for my gut feeling.

Instinct is hard to explain. It's something that hits you to make you realize about something else. It's like being inside the box while someone else rams the box from the outside, trying to tell you to think outside of it. I guess you should follow your instinct if it's really telling you something that seems real, or true.

Yes it is true I could never explain what instinct is or why they seem to be really good to follow. It said i should go for it but i still sense it be half hearted. Should I wait more... maybe I should wait.

I rely on my instinct to know if it feels right or not, but I also look at the pros and cons of the situation. Often I'll write it down on paper as I am very visual so seeing what my thoughts are and having the ability to organize them on paper is very important for me.
Don't make a hasty decision make sure you really think it out and feel good about the decision before you make it final.
Don't be afraid to make a mistake as mistakes can always be corrected.

I am not a religious person but I do have spiritual beliefs and I know some people may think I am a little weired, but I do believe we have guides , angels if you would prefer to call them, and I believe instinct is part of the way we are guided, instinct, inner voice, even conscience, just a few of the ways we are guided onto the right path of our journey.

Ok, thanks for the insight. I cannot decided yet. I often do with my rationalization when it comes to decision making. But I usually don't decide unless my mind and heart is at peace with each other.

There are really just times where I feel like I should have just followed my instinct, but hindsight is just a wonderful thing. There are just many times where I get some instinct, some feeling deep in my gut but I just brush it right off, as a foolish impulse. Yet as it turns out, I was rather right. I wish I wasn’t, I wish this snap reaction, this judgment that flew into my gut the first time, was wrong.
But there are times where I have an instinct but then I start thinking too much. When you think too much, you do run the risk of outsmarting yourself. Sometimes rational thinking is really just going to lead down the road of frustration and just false leads. Of course, you never know when you trust your gut, your heart, or your mind. There are really just many situations. I wish I had trust my instinct times where I didn’t though.

always believe your instinct! There is a very good reason why that alarm is warning us. Education, the way we are raised, the never ending thinking/thoughts/rationalizing makes us ignore our instinct. We better should pay more attention to it. If we would, we would have less trouble/problems in our life.

Hmmm maybe I should. Well there where times when I was save because I listen to it and there were times when I flank because I ignored it.

Decision making is a really hard process, no matter the situation. The choice we make can affect our present and future. Your instinct is what your mind learns over experience. Our instinct should be considered as a separate opinion among the several others and you should consider it before making your choice. Instincts is a very useful tool in cases where you must take fast decisions. But, in the long run, it's always good to listen to your instinct, not be completely influenced by it. Think about it both ways, before a decision, dazzledlady. Hope this helps :)

Thanks! Decisions are really hard to make especially if it can affect or change the way i am living today. I am asking myself if I will be able to take on the challenge and be triumphant at it.

Taking important decissions i prefer mostly my mind thoughts which one is Good and i go with it, some time it makes mistake but no one can make decissions in important times.Instinct is come if we have good religious thoughts only. Some times i go with that decission. I don't have the idea about the where it comes from.

When to believe your instinct? When it says so. I mean. Sometimes we are not aware of our instinct. It came at the time we need it. Never be confused with what your instinct is saying. Our instinct won't fail us.

hello..
I think we should listen to our instincts first before listening from other's opinion...Most importantly, we should let it be balance between instinct and reason.

I think we should always believe our instinct - but for me it's hard to decide if a feeling comes from instinct or just from the doubts of my mind.
It happened to me many times that I had good rational reasons to do something, but I felt there is no way I could do it, and couldn't explain why. When I looked back later thinking what would have happened if I acted differently, I often saw that I would have gotten into very big troubles! So yes, I believe in instinct because I'm sure they saved me sometimes.
