People who have dogs because of the image.

Hey
So i just want to start of by saying i love dogs and fully respect people who get a dog as a companion. I myself would like a dog someday.
But there is an ongoing trend i keep seeing and that is people getting dogs just too boost there ego or make themselves seem tough
For example in my town there are alot of people who have Staffordshire bull terriers because of the way they look and what angers me the most is that some people train there dogs to be vicious!!
what are your opinion on this?

I don't know about other countries but here in the UK I am sure we have a dangerous dog sanction, people with dangerous breed of dogs (bull terriers ect) are kept an eye on, not saying that its not going on underground so to speak. A wrongly trained dangerous breed in the wrong hands is definatley a lethal weapon, and should not be condoned, just for sport, fashion or any other intent apart from being a family pet.
I have a german shepard shes a big soft lump with lots of licks n cuddles, but if she was brought up by a village idiot, she would have a different character. You are right its the owners not the animals fault. The animals are the ones that get put to sleep in the end.

Its really irritating that there is a dangerous dog law in the UK and i think that its has only been put in place because of bad ownership and underground training that has led to these perfectly loving dogs being now seen as a danger :(
As again im seeing it alot nowadays people just getting a dog as a fashion trend....its so wrong :(
I love German shepherds! the are so cuddly and loving! But as again with this breed some idiot owners have given them a bad name :(

the ones that suffer the most in this situations are he poor dogs.no one that wants a dog for the self image will ever be a good owner.this is the way animals get on the street,because after a while people are fed up with the new trend.most of the persons that take a dog or cat only because is cool don't understand that having an animal involves responsability,taking care of him,giving him food and medicines.a dod is not like clothes.and yes the number of the people growing pitbulls and similar breeds to make them agresive in encresing every day.there has to be better laws for this.
