ok so i have this crazy thought ,almost like an obsession about getting a tatoo.it is not something that is on my mind since yesterday.i've been thinking aout this in the last year but i am not sure about making the big step.i am thinking about a lower back tattoo, cause that is a place where you can hide it at work and i believe it's the perfect place for the kind of image that i wish.i am not at the age when i have to ask the parents permision, but i feel that this is a big change and even if i wish very much to do this something is holding me back.
what do you think about tatoos and people who wear them?

Tattoos is a personal preference thing. There's nothing inherently good or bad about it.
It does seem kind of primitive to me. Like something that tribal people in the African Congo do.
The one thing you should know is that any time you puncture the skin, there is a chance, no matter how large or small, that you will get an infection.
Other than that health concern, there is the aspect of money. Are you wasting money on something useless, when later in life you would need that money?
I knew a guy years ago, who when he was single, saved every bit of money he could. When he finally got married he had enough money to buy a house, and get everything he needed for his bride. It was the best wedding gift he gave his wife.
Do you want to be broke when you get married? Or broke now that you are? Just spend all your money.
But if you have the money, and you can afford this, then that's fine.
As for me, I find piercings and tattoos both, to be nasty ugly and repulsive. I would likely not date someone with those things. It's just nasty.
Again, nothing wrong with it, it just reminds me of like some ancient tribal people cutting themselves with rocks, to appease the god of rain or something.
Oh and don't show use your stuff. Some girls seem to think all guys find that attractive.
First, if a guy finds you attractive because you got something done, then he doesn't really care about you, but rather what you got.
Second, yes some guys do find that attractive, but many others do not. Girls you got a dirty smudge on the small of your back. You need some bleach or something to wash that out of your skin! Hint: I don't want to see your dirty smudge lol Nothing personal, I just find that disgusting.

i actually find some tribal tattoo very interesting.
i would never spend on a tatto teh monet thet i need for something else.i will do it when i will have the extra money.
i don't wanna have one because it's attractive or not.i wanna have something close to me to remind me my life experience and to never give up.it is a form of expression.

Some tattoos look good and artistic while I have seen those that just look like mess and a big disappointment if it were on me. Personally, I don't dream of having a tattoo, for reasons already stated by previous responders. In your case, since you are still not that sure about it, why not try on Henna first? See how you feel about it, and maybe this will be good enough to satisfy that want for ink on the skin.

i guess i will try to make a test to see if i am not alergic to henna and i'll try to find some friends that did this to be sure that the artist uses the proper henna to keep me away from trouble.

May I suggest getting a henna tattoo in the shape and place you would like a inked tattoo. Wear it for a while and see if you like the placement enough to have it for life. Henna wears off after a while ink doesn't..so try it on so to say like you would jewelry. I have several tattoos and I have done this with all of them.

No in fact I have several recipes for baths that include henna just to alleviate allergies and skin irritation.

the problem that i 've heard that if the henne is not proper you can get dermatitis or a permanent allergie, which forbides you to get your hair dyed for the rest of your life.this is why i have a doubt about having a henna tattoo, although would be the best solution.

I love tattoos, not the kind that cover all the body, but one or more nice tattoos, and I have four,on my chest,on my shoulder blade,on my ankle and on my behind. The last one i got just before I turned sixty, and I am very pleased with them.I have a suggestion for you: wear a temporary one for a few weeks, and see how you feel with it,and if you really ,really want one after that ,go for it!
Now tattoos are not the stigma they used to be.Not only for bikers and bad girls anymore!!!

Tattoo is something that you have to live with for the rest of your life, so in my opinion, you should think number of times over before getting one. Yes, there are new development nowadays wherein they can erase your tattoo but it is very expensive. So, it should be something that you can carry to your grave and not regret.
I grew up with a very strict parents. Tattoo is not something that would encourage us to have. But after graduating from college and after hitting rock bottom for some separation issue with someone special, I took a big step and got myself a tattoo. It's a Chinese Character of my name and the word "invincibility" tattooed on my left leg near the ankle. I was of age and so I didn't bother asking for my parent's permission. They just asked but did not reprimand me for such action. It was a shocker for some people who knows me because they know that I am very conservative.
Having a tattoo is a form of self expression. If you are having a second thought about getting one, try to think of it a couple of times over before deciding. Also, in terms of style, it should be something that speaks about your personality or your beliefs, because just like what they say, tattoo once etched on your skin, is already a part of you.

Maybe I am old fashioned but I don't like to see tattoos on females, and not too many on males. Plus I just recently seen a few tattoos on older skin and I think they look terrible, I guess a small one is not too bad but the big ones on females , well I don't think they look good.

well for me,,its like expressing yourself,,theres a lot of people having a tatoo in their body,to express their self, they its an art and every tattoo signify on what their meaning,if you are an artist and you want to express yourself by the use of tattoo, why not, but if you want a tattoo just to design your body,i dont think its a good idea.,but if yoou just want just to try,why not., maybe try those tattoo that is can be erase, then if you think its a good having that tattoo then go for it,

I personally would never get a tattoo. For one I do not like needles and the second reason is I know something I like right now I might find distgusting later on in life. Then it will be there and I have heard its very tough getting them removed. I would much rather stick with Henna tattoos which are just temporary. It has to be up to you though. I just know my hubby got tattoos when he was about 20 yrs old and regrets a lot of them! I don't want that to happen to me...

oh yea i also have that crazy thought to get a tattoo.. i wanted to have it on my hips.. =) i love looking at people with nice tattoo =).. i think of an ambigram is a good tattoo, two words or phrases that can be write as one but you can read it by rotating, reversing and reflecting in mirrors.. cool =).. you really need to think hard if you want it or not coz its permanent.. henna is better coz u change it if dont want it anymore..

hi, really the same state i am going through but making a permanent tattoo is kind of odd why don't you go for tattoo which last for a week or so bcoz as the days pass you might get a feeling that i should have selected something better then this that time we cant do anything so it better go for a tattoos which will last for weeks or so , so that you can keep on changing the tattoo with change in fashion

yes the temporary tattoo has the advantage of changing and you are able to remove it easier.but as i said before i know that henna tattoos can get you in a lot of trouble, like dermatitis for the rest of your life and impossibility of getting your hair dyed.

if you want to do it just do it, do. If you are old enough, do it. I would want to make a tatoo for myself, I'm saving up money and I'm just thinking for the right spot and THE right tatoo. And with the new technologies it's pretty easy to remove it
