I know there are a lot of establishments in Philippines but never really encountered one. Just this morning, my dad took a different route while going to office (I was with him since my workplace is along the way) and I saw this establishment. I think most Filipinos can relate what's funny in the name :D
What about you guys? Have you entered/seen an establishment with a funny name?

I have encountered a lot of establishments which has a funny name. I think this is a unique concept. This is also very common in the Phillippines. The name of their establishments are being associated with those funny words and anything which is in today. It is okay as long as they give satisfaction to their customers.

That's just so true! At least when an establishment have a funny name, people would get curious and some would eventually try the place/service out.

Yes, it serves as their strategy to gain more customers. Even I would actually be tempted to go inside in that certain funny name of establishments and see what they got for us. There were some which are also being featured in the television. I was really laughing when I have watched it.

This is really funny. I remember there was once an eatery in our place called "kina roger". It was actually a lugawan. We loved eating there back when we were in grade school. When we are asking each other, where do we like to eat, and then someone will answer "tara! kina Roger na lang" and when you say is fast, It sounds like Kenny Roger. haha!

That is a briliant idea. I also tell that to my boyfriend. Because when i ask him where will we eat, he answers me "kahit saan", that is why i like to create a "kahit saan" restaurant.
The "Kahit ano" item on the menu was a new idea for me. nice one!

If ever given a chance, I would create a food establishment and name it "Kahit Saan!" so that whenever people ask where to eat, those who commonly answer "Kahit Saan!" will end up in my restaurant. Lolz!
To add, I'll make sure my most expensive menu would have the name "Kahit ano".

If I did not have any background on Bisaya, I would never thought it's funny.
I can't remember any funny establishments right now but I saw this picture at Facebook and I thought this was equally funny and related, too. It's a picture of a mobile fish ball stall shared by one of my friends at Facebook.
It reads:
"Eat my balls, don't be shy."

Well establishments as in names of resturants or shops or something like that? If so, then yes I have seen some along the way and have giggled with my sister. But more than names of establishments, I have seen some really hilarious signs and laughed so hard hehe!

It really shows how Filipinos can be creative and at the same time funny at times. They can turn a name of a person into a funny establishment name. Yes I have seen a lot of establishments with funny names. Even some of my colleagues will say "Let's eat at KFC only it turns out that its not Kentucky fried chicken but Kanto fried chicken. There are also some like Cooking ng Ina Mo, or Crispy per minute or even CinnaVON (a laundry shop).

It's actually one of my favorite pastimes when I travel and I'm on a bus going some place else. I read store names while looking out the window and I must say I have encountered a lot of these funny names while on the road. Most stores and food stalls have funny names that capture one's attention. They do attract more customers I think. I find them funny, witty and ingenious in their own way.

Same here! Sometimes I don't need to look since they will just pop out of nowhere. Like this one in my picture upload. I saw this while I was in Subic.

It's cool :) Like I stated in my very first post, the name of the establishment is something only Filipinos can grasp from the very first time they read it :)
