Resently, I install a program, and, the next day, when I opened my computer, I saw that the ask toolbar was install, I always read the directions that appear on the boxes, while I install some program, precisely to avoid this, and now, after installing without my consent, this crap just does not disapears, I enter to the control panel, mark it and clik to uninstal, but it just does not happen, please, is there someone who can help me. And please, if you are going to answer me just to tell me how useful and funny this things are, please don´t, I am really pissed, and I don´t care, I hate things that install in someone´s computer just like that, sorry.

Loads of programs want you to have their tool bar. I once went to a customer to fix their computer and they had so many tool bars that the actual window for a web site was just an inch high slit at the bottom! Crazy. As said above, use some software to remove it if it is stubborn and ViewToolbars on the browser to not show it. The Ask toolbar comes with loads of programs as they get a kickback when you search with Ask Jeeves (which I found to be one of the worst search engines for finding what you want!)

It is one of the worst, indeed, and what annoys me the most, is that it installs itself, without consulting, as in other programs, some other tool bars can be remove easily from the browser, but this one comes over and over again. I will try the uninstaller that the other person told me, I hope this can help me to remove it for good. Thanks for your sharing.

That was 2 months back albto. Did you manage to get rid of it successfully and if so how did you do it. It would be interesting for all of us to know the outcome.

I have installed some toolbars and, for the most part, they are a nuisance and I have to uninstall them later. The worst one was cashgopher. I had to have my computer fixed after installing the program and its toolbar. Besides everything else, it uses part of the screen so it is smaller.

I used to have the Cashgopher, but I uninstalled it without problem, thanks God, I don´t like toolbars, they take space of the screen, making it smaller, and the computer get slowly if there are too many, the worst is that most of them install for themselves, and is so anoying to get rid of them.

Try uninstalling the toolbar from your browser's options.
