Accepting a Friend on Mylot

When you get friend requests how long does it take you to accept or deny the requests?
I start and end with looking at my friends tab so if there is anyone requesting an add I will approve them once I log in. I have only refused one person due to illegal requests in their postings, but other than that I haven't denied anyone. As long as I am not spammed lets be friends.
What is your routine for accepting Friend requests on Mylot?

I turned down one that wanted to start dating. Felt my husband wouldn't approve and I knew I didn't approve, so said 'I don't think so.'
Most people I will take as friends. Usually, I've followed a few of their posts or responses to posts and know whether or not I want them as friends.
Hugs,
Maggie

Somewhat on the right track. I don't care to be friends with people who are intentionally cruel in their answers, or cannot have a conversation without gettng angry. Adults should be able to discuss anything with passion, but not with anger.
Hugs,
Maggie

I can understand that if someone is posting really stupid things you know they aren't that serious so why add them to devalue the responses? Am I on the right track?

Never thought of it that way having friends online or offline. I guess the more the merrier.

I usually check their profiles and see what kind of activity and interests they have. I can tell that way if they are kind or abusive. I can also see if we share some of the same interests. I look to see if they have a ton of banners on their profile and if they do..that's ok as long as they are active here. I try to avoid the spamming thing. I might wait a couple of days if they have very low activity numbers just to see if they are intending on being active members here. I look to see if we have ran across one another in discussions too. I just like to get a feel for the person first. I won't usually deny someone unless they have been abusive, rude, or has a ton of friends and no activity. I love making new friends here and I usually have to have a very good reason if I don't accept them.

Thanks for the best response!
As far as I know, there aren't any ways that I could do that unless it was public..like in a discussion...so usually not. We can't PM them unless they are on our friend's list. If there was a way to so that, I would though.

Thank you, do you let them know why you deny them should you deny someone?

I will accept any friendship request because it'll give me more variety and quantity of discussions that I can respond to. A few of them became close and we ended up on each other's facebook but not often but I never deny because I'm here to discuss and interact and earn. If a person spams me I just dont' respond to the messages and they usually get the hint that I'm here on MyLot to talk not send referral links.

I'm not sure if I have a routine. I usually look at their profile just to have an idea or a backgrounder on who the person is. Then I accept the invitation. After that, I send a private message thanking the person about the invite. Oh, I guess I do have a routine after all

Absolutely, sometimes we do things totally out of routine and not realize it's a routine until we step outside the normal

I accept friend requests, i mean aside from the discussions and updates that you will get from them, you'd be able to learn more about them and their culture. but one thing though, be careful on giving out your personal information because we'll never know who the predators are....

I am quite proud in saying that I found Mylot on my own and don't know anyone on here personally, although that's not to say I wouldn't want to meet people on mylot. I am quite selective on what I will post on my personal information.

I always accept friend request here in Mylot. It is not facebook where we have personal information and relative list so I think it is fine to accept everybody's request. If they send me spam messages, that is the time that I delete that person. So far, I don't have a friend who spams and that is a good news for me More friends, more fun!

Hi glitznglitter. Nice to meet you for the first time.
I don't turn down freiend requests. I see no reason to, except, just one or two reasons, and I will not bring up those reasons, but just let me say that I try to live a good life and think about kind and good things, so maybe that would be a hint.
I have quite a few friend, and I simple go to the profile for a minute to see if I can tell a little about their character, and if they are someone I wouldn't be afraid of in the daylight or someone I wouldn't worry about being around my loved ones, then I will accept them.

Thank you nice to meet you as well.
That's good at least there is a guideline that you follow to accept or deny.

I usually do is to check the member`s profile and read some of the posts and answers he has made so as to see if we`ll meet again later. If someone spams me or doesn`t meeet my idea of friendship,I can always delete him.
