Two primary girls killed themselves by jumping into a pool because one of them Xiao Hua lost her keys and wanted to die in order to avoid her parent's blame. And her close friend Xiao Mei decided to die with her together as being a good friend.
Xiao Mei left a note saying that she wanted to die at the same day and the same moment with her best friend to show her loyalty. She also mentioned that she had two secrets in life: one was to travel back to the Qing dynasty and have some stories with the Emperor and the other one was to go to the outer place.
The trend of Time Travel TV series has been very popular since last year. Most of them are adapted from online novels. Usually in such TV series, the leading role travels back to ancient China and have some romantic stories with the noble upper class like the Emperor or his sons.
Chinese authority has already banned the time travel shows as it disrespects the history. In a March 31 statement, the bureau claimed that time travel “casually makes up myths, has monstrous and weird plots, uses absurd tactics, and even promotes feudalism, superstition, fatalism and reincarnation.”
So who to blame, such TV series, or the parents? Many netizens blame the TV series. And some say it's their parent's faults.
But nothing can bring these two lives back.

Wait, wait, wait, wait...!
The girl actually thinks she can time travel or what is this "the other one was to go to the outer place"? I don't quite get her "secret". Kindly explain it to me, please? My messed up brain can't seem to cope no matter how many times I read your discussion details.

Ouch! That seems like similar to a story I've read on a manga before.
How old was the girl again? To believe such a story, the girl would have to be toddler or really a kid who believes such stories.

Yes Lila, if only the parents had taught their children to be more open when they are in trouble, then nothing like this will happen. Parents is always an important person in a child's eye. Children learn to be more mature through interaction and discussion with parents.

I'd like to think that the parents had brought these children well and that the influence of television was much stronger. I mean, parents can only do so much. We can't teach our children everything about life since I don't really think anyone has experienced everything life has to offer. TV on the other hand in a sense has. It can even create situations that has not happen in everyday life. Without the proper guidance, children would believe whatever the TV shows spew. But if parents are not that educated enough, how can they teach their children about what's true and what's not about TV shows? Many would definitely argue onto whom the blame should be put. And I believe every argument would have it's good and bad points. It's true we can never bring the lives of these children back but we can however prevent such things from happening again.

That's right, and that's why I mentioned also that young children need proper guidance when watching TV. One problem however is that not all parents are educated enough to provide such guidance. So sometimes I think that TV networks have also a big responsibility in the selection of their programs. I feel that this isn't their primary concern but the revenues that those programs would generate.

Television should not be blamed, nor should music. I don't think anyone is to blame necessarily just a terrible incident. It is sad that she felt the need to end her life because of lost keys, and I'm sure her parents feel terrible about that and don't need to be blamed they are in mourning now and feel bad enough all ready.
A lot of people dream of time traveling, an it's fascinating thought, but blaming the TV show is preposterous.

Whoah. . in my opinion, the blame is still in their parents. Though those two poor girls killed themselves because of the series they used to watch, their parents are accountable to what they do. Parent should be the one guiding and reminding these children on what series to be watch, or what type of show it is, things that should and shouldn't mimic while watching.
Well, the lives of the two girls can't be redeem anymore, but let this be a lesson to all parents and sisters and brothers to guide children or the young ones while watching. Constantly telling them what is real and what is not. And reminding them where and what to believe.

WOW that really is a crazy story. I can't really say who's fault it was but I do have a option on the matter. First of all mayb the parents seemed to the child to be very strong on diseplean. I can relate to that a little bit. But I wouldn't say that it is either the shows fault nor the parents fault. People should teach their children that tv shows are not real.

This is terrible incidence. We can not blame children's imagination. They are lack of proper judgement about what they come across. Parents and society should come hand in hand to avoid such things happening in the future. All in all, life education is essential to let children know that life is the most precious anywhere and any time.
