I know many of you friends are reading the Bible.
I have come to the book of Rut, a beautiful story about a woman who loved the God Almighty so much that she left her own country and relatives in Moab and followed her mother in law to Betlehem in Judah.
She became one of the ancestors of Jesus Christ.
Ruth was richly blessed when she left the gods of Moab and chose the true God instead.
The words of Boaz, who later became her husband, must have warmed her heart:
Ruth 2 (Young's Literal Translation)
"11And Boaz answereth and saith to her, `It hath thoroughly been declared to me all that thou hast done with thy mother-in-law, after the death of thy husband, and thou dost leave thy father, and thy mother, and the land of thy birth, and dost come in unto a people which thou hast not known heretofore.
12Jehovah doth recompense thy work, and thy reward is complete from Jehovah, God of Israel, under whose wings thou hast come to take refuge.'"
The book of Ruth is very short and easy to read, so why not read it right now?? Or you can listen to it by downloading it at jw.org or read it online in biblegateway.com or go to watchtower.org and read it in modern English.
What do you find interesting and heart warming in the book of Ruth?

I found it gruesome that she cuts the guy's head off and killed him but I know she did that for the betterment of all people since that guy is evil. Ruth indeed is one of the shortest bible chapters out there and its one of the bible stories lead by a woman. I think the other bible story lead by a woman is Judith. She is really brave on what she did since the man she killed is a very powerful evil guy.

I cannot find any head cutting in the book of Ruth, perhaps you are thinking of another story.
I listened to Ruth´s book today and it is a short story full of wisdom and love. Why not read it once more - I will do that too..

Book of Ruth does interpret about the live of a Christians. From the very beginning until the end. We start as an outsider but when we baptize we become God people. As long as we are loyal to God we will rewarded in the end by being with HIM at heaven.
I have do some interpretion about the book of Ruth. Not a very deeply meaning interpretion but a simple to understand but yet I find it very meaningful.
You can read it here.

Ruth is a great example for us if we want to follow the way the Christians should live. She must have been taught about the law, as she was married to and Israelite and God saw that she was wholeheartedly devoted to Him.
That is why she got so many blessings and became the ancestress of Jesus.
I can see that you write in Triond. I am there too, with the same username as here, and I have also written some articles about religion. Nice to read your article and see your thoughts, thank you..

In my Bible reading for this year, I read the first chapter of Ruth today. What I appreciate is the fact that God welcomes people of all nations, as Ruth was not an Israelite but a Moabite and as you pointed out, she became an ancestress of Jesus. Indeed, God is not partial!

She must have loved God from all her heart, more than her family and her other relatives.
Many of us may have to lose family members and relatives because we choose to worship the true God. But we will be rewarded just like Ruth.
That is right, God is not partial. It is one of the wonderful lessons in the book of Ruth..
Thanks for reminding us about that..

That the love story of Ruth and Boaz mirrors the love of Christ for the church, the redeemed ones, as Ruth was redeemed by Boaz.
You are right, it is a beautiful story and a very easy book to read quickly.

Many things we read in the Bible reflect bigger things that happened or happens later in the spiritual world or among God´s servants here on earth.
Even if it is a short book, we learn so much from it..

The Book of Ruth is beautiful. I've read it several times. I will read it again sometime. I have also watched a movie of Ruth. This is truly a story of love and devotion. Thy people will become my people. It reminds me of marriage, when your husband's people become your people. I'm not married anymore, but my son in law's family has become my family. I love them with all my heart. I feel a connection to Ruth.. especially because she was in the line of Christ.

Yes, it is possible to love people who are not close relatives, especially those who love the true God.
I have also experienced meeting people who really deserve our love.
Thank you for telling your story..

It is said,"no man is an island".this means that we just cannot leave alone.we need somebody to help us in a certain areas or needs that only the other person can provide for us.as i have learn from the character of Ruth, she is much dedicated and faithful to what she is doing. If we do what we have to do conscientiously,we have no reason to fear the unexpected coming of Christ. There is a blessing in doing the ordinary with sensitivity,in doing sensible thing,in acting with common sense and prudence.Mystic Meiter Eckhat said."Wisdom consists in doing the next thing you have to do,doing it with your whole heart and finding delight in doing it.

Yes, Ruth is a great example for us in faithfulness and she was richly rewarded by God for that.
Let us always try to learn more about God´s will and do our best to do what he wants us to do.
Like in the time of Ruth, we need others to help us grow in dedication, as a good company is very important to help us keep faithful.
Thanks for your comment..

Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you.
God blesses those who bless others.
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all of this will be added to you.
If you are good and love others which is the new one commandment that sums up all 10 of the orginal commandments God will bless you.

Yes, these are some important things we learn from the book of Ruth.
She put God first in her life and it was no wonder that Boaz appreciated her and no doubt loved her very much.
May we all follow her excellent example and be blessed!!
