This might sound a bit unusual but when we were kids, we would put the fresh strawberries in a bowl of powdered milk without sugar. I think the milk serves as a substitute for cream. Well, the powdered milk we used has a slight sweetness to it and it really complemented the fresh strawberries. It was sort of an annual thing when we visit my cousins who had a small strawberry farm.

It depends on the amount of milk you put. For some reason, I love the taste of undiluted powdered milk. Sometimes I just get a teaspoonful of it and eat it. So I guess the strawberries serve as sort of a topping like cherries on a salad . But you can actually taste the strawberries as long as you don't put lots of milk.

ok i may have to try that. i do not drink a lot of any kind of milk because i do not like the taste of it all the time lol. i really have to be in the mood to drink it. it sounds like a very interesting way to fix them and it is something new i havent heard or tried before so i think it would be interesting to test it out at least 1 time :)

I can so relate to what you are saying about the dipping the strawberries into the sugar right after picking them. I use to do the exact samething with my grandma all the time at the exact same time as you. LOL o wait your my sister of course i would be doing it at the same time as you. I use to hate going and picking them cause it always took so long cause we had to pick them for everyone but it was so much fun after the fact when we could just sit down together and spend some time just us and eat and eat and o eat some more LOL.

Yeah i kinda enjoyed it. The only thing was it was so hot out there. Yeah we should so go and do that one day. I think a lady told me the other day that they will be coming out soon. So maybe we can talk to grandma and we go out there and at least we can do it together again at least it will be the 2 of us and we can leave the guys at home with the kids or at least the youngest 2 lol. I now joshua would love to do that and i think that E would also enjoy that.

Too bad the weather where I live is not conducive to growing strawberries. That is why the strawberries sold at the supermarket is so expensive. I can only eat them once in a while. I love strawberries and the way I eat them is by cutting them to small pieces and cover them with ice-cream; vanilla flavor is best. Yummy.

I love slicing the stawberries up, sprinkiling powdered sugar on them, tossing around so they get coated. Leave them sit for 1/2 hour in fridge. Place on a peice of shortcake. Scoop a big heaping spoon of whip cream on the top! Yumm.
