The existence of many browser options, such as Firefox, Opera, Chrome has a direct impact to the reduced number of users of Internet Explorer browser (IE). Net Applications Based on the research results of 160 million unique visitors accessing the website address shows 40 thousand users of Microsoft's browser continues to decrease throughout the year 2011. IE users in February 2011 reached 59.22 percent, but in March fell to 58.35 percent. April and May, pegguna IE still be in the range of 57 percent. These figures continue to fall until December 2011, recorded 51.87 percent of IE users. The new browser, Google Chrome. also changed the number of users during the year 2011. Presentease Chrome users increased significantly. On February 2011, the number of users reached 11.41 percent, and continued to rise slowly every month, so in December 2011 reached 19.11 per cent of users. What do you think about this phenomena? What should microsoft do to get back their loyal customer?

Hi omchesunche,
I'm not surprised that IE is losing its popularity. I myself have also switched over to Firefox and Chrome after having been with IE for so many years. Microsoft definitely needs to do something about this if they want IE to remain the top browser. They should conduct an extensive survey to know what computer users want from a browser. Study other browsers and improve on them. I'm sure if they are willing they will be able to succeed. Have a good day.

well, you are right.. seems IE must have significant improvement rather than depends on their software bundled in windows..People sometimes using it to download other browser and forgot about it after they are using those downloaded browser..However, seems people still using it in the office due to regulation, meaning there will be market for IE in formal ways..
appreciate your response..

IE was a good browser...however, Firefox and Chrome are better, due to Chrome's per biweekly/monthly version update and Firefox's extensive list of plugins, that made these two browsers to easily respond to their user's preferences.
IE, on the other hand prefer to have an all-in-one upgrade, thus having difficulties when something goes wrong with the newly-released version. I remember some time that Firefox had two upgrades before IE had it's next upgrade.
Lastly, Microsoft NEVER hear their users' voices. If they did, then IE won't be immune to few viruses out there. Add up their crappy Security Essentials.

I've been using both Firefox and Chrome interchangeably these few days and already satisfied with it. I still have IE in my computer but I have never opened it for year.
Your statistics would be bothersome to Microsoft. They should really do something big in order to win back their lost patronage. I really don't know what they would do but it should be something really amazing.

Used Chrome for 2 and 1/2 years now and I love it. It's just like IE I think and I always have. Honestly I use Chrome cause it starts faster, is simpler, doesnt get in my way and because I like the icon better than the big e.

Internet explorer is too slow to browser or to continues surf the inter compare with Mozilla Firefox, Chrome and some others. Everyone enjoy using the fast, safely and something good quality browser not still using a old version. Humans need a new technology than better and better. They cannot easily satisfy with the current technology even good enough.
The satisfaction is unlimited and wanna seek for new software and new version. That the why they just leave the internet explorer (IE). They will seek and keep seek for new release which is can be download from internet offers a services free of charge.
Even me also like to find a new software in some website that can be download free anytime and nothing hard to install and safely can be used. I often seek a new software on the internet. This is because we can familiar with any kind new software and get know the features within.

I personally hate IE and will never use it. I think they are doing a good job promoting it with their new search engine bing. They need to establish themselves as a browser that is trustworthy and secure. Sometimes, that's just the bane of being the first one.

As a web developer, I also don't like IE because they did't follow the web standards - hence it will take more times to create a website that looks great in IE, while it already looks great in another major web browsers.. --;
And this article really explains my stands a lot : http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/32372/htg-explains-why-do-so-many-geeks-hate-internet-explorer/

Well, you have good points.. I know that IE is part of the windows XP for long time and if we only using it for basic requirement than its seems fine . If we are trying to make it worth for installing many adds-on then we might find difficulty compare with using other browser. I find ease to install plug in and adds on my firefox and running smoothly without any error every time I am using it… appreciate your response…

When I was using IE many moons ago, it was unstable and annoying to work with, security was crap and pop ups all the time even with blockers on. I changed to firefox, liked it and never had 1 crash, popup, security alerts, business e-mails being hacked ect ect...not good, so ever scince then I much prefered using other browsers than IE.

Well, you have good points.. sometimes IE has something wrong with its security system..Even I setting everything in low security level but still unable to open certain sites..the pop up on IE is also annoying, even we can do our own setting but using browser that having their own tab system like IE will have more benefit and more efficient than those explorer.. appreciate your response…

I have not used IE since 2008. Sometimes I want to use it, but it really take slow performance. Im using Chrome now, it faster than mozila. I only use mozila sometimes by mistake. I think IE is so out of date, it should increase it's performance if not want to leave by the netter.

Well, this could be a problem for everyone that previously using IE..I observed they dominated the browser market about ten years back…It was really sophisticated product at that time. However, nowadays there are more and more new browser seems more creative and faster than it. Not sure about the reason but it seems lack of improvement since it already integrated in the windows bundled…appreciate your response…

Technology advances and changes abruptly. When people surf the internet they want more than just a typical browser. Now that people have merged into high-speed internet (DSL, Cable, 3G/4G) people want a fast browser. This also comes in handy with app add-ons Chrome and Firefox provides which Internet Explorer doesn't normally offer.
Unless, Microsoft comes up something new and different for Internet Explorer 10 which will be available soon for Microsoft Windows 8. Think they can compete? If they put their brains and ideas to it. They need to wake up and see where all these advance steps and processes are going in our day and age.

well, you are right...The advantage of other browser than IE is mostly because of their faster conenction not only when dowloading but also during browsing..Yes, I have heard about those microsoft windows 10 which come along with their new windows OS..Well, if they able to compete than will be great advantage for users.. however, many of internet users has already feel comfort by using firefox or Chrome...appreaciate your response..

I'm a computer user since year 2000. I'm also using IE that time, but when mozilla firefox intruduced I change already from IE to firefox. I just thought firefox has more features and it is more faster than IE. Last year I also installed crome and I can say it is much more usable for me than IE and firefox.

I already don't use IE since years. But to be honest I don't think mozilla firefox is better (also faster) anymore. all those extra's, seldom used, makes the pc slow, it's the same with the never ending updates.
A simple browser is what people need, not all these extra's nobody will use/is asking for and slows down your pc and needs the never ending updates.

I have not used my IE browser for a long time. It is so slow that sometimes it takes minutes even if I am in a faster connection or sometime the page doesn't even open.
The firefox and chrome is much faster and they provide a lot of feature, add ons that it is a great experience using them.
Besides now a days IE is coming along with bing bar which I personally hate a lot.
But the fact is if IE was not there we had not got firefox or chrome or any other browser.
