Here in China, job is a very important part in people's life. If a person is out of job, it in some degree means he/she lose his/her social status at the same time.
Now I am in a situation can not find a job now, but I now have some money in hand. i think i can wait for a while and find out what kind of job i really want to do. But i am afraid that my parents will not bear that. they think their daughter should be better than other young men, and can not in a state like out of job.

Hi Dandan,
Here in Bulgaria is quite the same situation. Unfortunately more and more young people are left without work and this is very bad for them. As an example, my brother after finishing his education started looking for a job as IT specialist and it took him 1 year to find. It is very hard today.
I am now at my final year in high school and I need money for university, that is why I registered myself in this web-site in order to make some money, but so far I have earned only 0,08 dollars.
It is very hard ...

Several days ago, it was said that the age to get pension will be improved. Now is 60, in the future will be 65. I think it become harder and harder for young people to get a job for more people have to get a job here. The one with experience really has advantages in finding a job, while to those with no experience, like me, job finding become harder.

Hi dandan
Job is not only important at your place only, it is important everywhere I guess.
Anyways, being in job or not is not in our hands anytime. That is one. Another thing is that when you are jobless, this doesnt mean you are meanless. This entirely depends on why you are jobless. Some stay jobless just because they dont want to work on anything - this is bad.
The important thing is if you are jobless, why? And then what are you doing to find a job! If you follow these the chances are that you will stop thinking that you are meaningless... and it will be surely more positive.

My mother wanted me to find a job near my home. As my major is chemical engineering, it is not easy for me to get a job in the city. If I can work in the suburb or away from my home, it is easy for me to get a job, sometimes can have a job with good salary.
But my mother forced me to find a job in the downtown area, I think I can not make it.

good day dandan07,
To tell you honestly, I am jobless right now. And it is almost one year now that I am not connected as an employee to any company. As a consequence, my mom thinks that I am bum, a person that is worthless. However, I have tried my very best to prove to her that even I am not an employee, I can make an earning thru the works that I have learned. That, I will still do my best to hit my aim even I am not working as an employee. That, I am not a meanless person. That is why I am really working hard online. That, still, I can achieve my dreams right at the doorstep where I lived right now.

I think there are many ways to make money and support ourselves.
Just like making post in mylot, starting one's own small business, translating for some people and writing a book for sell. But here many people, especially in the people as my parents' age, they do not think they can be seen as job. Job in their eyes should be stable, with contract and in a form company.
But in most case, working in a company means you work for others not for yourself. And in most case, that kind of job just help you make some money, you can not get happiness from that.
I now try to some such kind of job. But I am sure, I will quit, if I have enough ability to support myself to do something I really like.

Yes, it happens everywhere in the world. I am also Indian. Here, job is almost most important thing in life, as jobs gives you money and stability. If you are having a job then it means that you are responsible, wise and are able to do something. If you are having a job it means you are having some definite future. Job gives you respect and good social status.
Jobless people are treated the same way here. One should take a quick decision and get a job as quickly as possible unless he is already a very rich person.

I know job is very important, but i think life should be treated more important than job.
But in many places all over the world, people seems treat the job as the most important thing in their life. They can get away with their family members, they can spend more than 14 hours a day on the job, but left their ill family members without care and to get the success.
I think we should think more about our life, and make us live happy, then get a job to make money.
Now I feel that I spend most of time in preparing a life, not leading a life.

it happens not only in china, but every part of the world. I am an indian. People here will treat you well if you have money and they wont if you dont have proper job. It is human tendency all over the world to discourage others. We should not consider them and we should work hard to come up in life.

I think in many place, the work position is the social status.
If a person with a good job, usually he can have a higher social status than other ones. Some job with power can help people a lot.
It is a hard time for many people to find a job now, especially to get some they really like.
I think if i want to find a job, i can get one, but the salary is not good enough and the content may not interesting. But spending time on what i do not like is a punish to me.

Not having a job does not mean that you are less of a person, World economy has hit every country just now, all having to make cut backs, that means jobs. No fault of your own but the government making cuts all the time on everything while prices still rise. A job is very important to most people its how we feed our families and keep a roof over our heads. I know very skilled people having to take very low wages at the moment, they have been to university and college, but still having to take very low paid jobs so they have a roof over their head. In this day and age it is F***ing disgraceful and demeaning. So thats my rant on world affairs sorted...lol

To me, I will take a job with low salary to feed myself and support my family. But my mother has thought that I should take a respectable job with good payment. I just graduated from college, and I do not think at that period I can get such kind of job easily. Last month, I found a good job but far from my home, so my mother forced me to give up that job. I do not think all good things can get together at the same time.

I think that is what they are trying to portray in America. They would like to picture unemployed people as lazy, stupid, useless, dependents of the government. They believe that jobless people are not able to take care of themselves without some form of handout. Unfortunately, the situation that you are telling about in China may be playing out in other parts of the world, including America.

Well it shouldn't but it does. Not only are you judged by whether or not you have a job, but the kind of job that you have. There are some jobs out there where people are going judge them right as worthless for any number of reasons. Of course, they really don't realize that that each and every job right out there, someone will have to do it.
Of course, I think that most people don't realize, beyond there minds, that there are circumstances. Getting a job in many professions is a very political process in some way, where a certain look is needed. And there are just going to be other circumstances why people don't get jobbed. still people don't really think about that so for better or for worse, people get judged with whether or not they have a job or even the type of job they have.

Job shouldn't be most important part of our lives, or something that define us. Just think of how many people have jobs, but are nothing more than social parasites (politicians, bureaucracy and similar). They have jobs, usually very well paid, but produce nothing that someone else, beside them, have real use of. So, if you don't have job at the moment, this doesn't (and shouldn't) mean that you are less valuable or important human being. If you use your time to educate yourself, or do some volunteering and in such way help someone who needs help, you'll be more beneficial to the word and society than some "paper pusher". Whatever you do in life, remember that money is not only reward of our work. It also could be personal satisfaction, gratitude from others or some other form of non monetary reward.
Anyway, good luck with your job search :-)

Yes job is a very important matter not only in China but in the whole world. If the persons did not got a job as per her/his degree is doesnt matter, the important nowadays he/she has a job to support their needs. Before I worked a tourist guide even though I am a nurse because there is no available hospital for me during that time, so what can I do, I need to feed myself and my sibling and if I dont work we cannot eat we will die due to hunger. Out of the line job based on your eduactional background its doesnt mean you are meanless, it just serve as an alternative job while searching for your real line of job. Goodluck

I think the situation is the same anywhere. Some people tend to look down upon jobless people and see them like they're up to no good. Some even brand as lazy. The thing is economic situation is bad and not everyone is lucky to be landed with a job, even if you're a graduate with a degree. Well not everyone can understand that and tend to be prejudice.
