Angelina-the worst case of misheard lyrics

I remember during the 90's there is a French song titled Angelina. The artist who sang it is known as P.S.Y. The song have French Lyrics. I dont know if the song is from France or Canada though, I mean both countries speaks French so this could be from any of those two.
The lyrics of this song is so pure, Its about a guy who sings for a girl he loves who happens to be named Angelina. I think the song means he loves Angelina so much and he will love her until the end of the world.
Apparently Filipinos misheard this song as Tagalog, the way Filipinos misheard it is that Angelina is a woman with foul smelling Vajayjay... i think I dont need to make details but yeah during the 90's Filipinos misheard this lyrics badly.
I'm sure some Filipinos will be nostalgic about this discussion cos the way Filipinos misheard this French song as tagalog is controversial during 90's. I found out what this song really means in English and its so innocent and pure.
I hope I was able to bring back some memories from the 90's to the Filipino Mylotters.

That is my real name and it was really insulting on my part as a kid and a woman. I was 8 years old during that time. You know others teases me until they tend to be too personal. When I was a kid good thing I am civil enough to ignore those senseless and immature classmates who are teasing me then most of them are boys. I was 8 years old during that time and that thing was really stressful, people became rude to me because of my name that is the reason why I was been in denial of that name during that time. I really felt that people are hating me because of that name.
But good thing about it there was also another song in Carribean which indeed it was kinda wholesome so at least when my classmates are teasing me they were just laughing.
I searched about my name and it is really Angelic. It is Italian term that means little Angel, so it is like a cherub name as well.

Yeah there is another Angelina song, I think its lyrics is like "Angelina, be my sweet Senyorita" wow this song seemed to give a chapter of your life that you want to forget. I really dont know why such a wholesome song got misinterpreted,
Its chorus is nothing like how Filipinos misheard it. I think if this song is released in english in our country, It would have not been badly misheard,French is a beautiful language so to have it butchered is sad.

I haven't watched that so I don't have any idea that there was Angelina as character on that movie aside from the fact that the performer itself who is known as Lara Croft of that movie is Angelina as well as an actress.
So another name that my classmates call me is Angelina JOLIE! Yes she is sexy actress, beautiful or gorgeous and popular but honestly I don't like her roles that much in general. Of course she is doing sensitive roles as well though I still respect her as professional actress. Aside from that she is doing good in Oscars.
The best thing I like in Angelina is the Angelina Ballerina.

hello Capt,
Oh gosh, where I am during those days?
Honestly I never heard this song murdered by some "tambays" hahahaha.
This is worst, yes because most of the lyrics doesn't match with the sounds that sounds-like.
Only the chorus does...
I also watch subtitles but not the original ones from a certain "murderer" but at least the lyrics sounds like....

Obviously it was the "tambays" who murdered that but too bad there were educated people who also stooped down to the level of the uneducated people.

I think there also another Indian song that is badly misheard, Try to search "nipple song" in youtube. That Indian Michael jackson reminds me of Rene requestas. I think the Angelina song became famous cos of a certain dance group. I dont remember that dance group though. I think Highschool students are the ones that murdered Angelina.

our language is kind of complex, I wonder if people from other languages can misheard our lyrics to something else. I just realized the popularity of this song in our country during the 90's is a dark age for girls named Angelina.

Haha, I remember this one but not the original song, I remember that kids and even some "tambay" in our place sings this and its really disgusting to my ears, since I am still on my teenage years then.
Anyway, now that you open this discussion, I am surprised that I still remember the misheard lyrics very well! hehe maybe its really that popular before!

I was like an Innocent 8 year old boy when I hear that parody lyrics. Filipinos really badly misheard it but I think that is the reason why it became popular in the Philippines. I think some Filipinos thought its the real lyrics until now. They didnt know the song is French and is lyrics is wholesome as sesame street.

It could be a good thing that this song is kinda forgotten so it wont be butchered again. I really thought before that its what it really means cos most filipinos then sings it that way...

Yeah I also remember this song. But I never really got to learn it 'cause I think I was so young, maybe in grade school when I heard about this song. But back then, I thought, there was another version of the song, a version that some street punks made up. Now I know better.

I wonder if our language can be misheard in other cultures. I mean Americans misheard an Indian song in a dirty way too.
they misheard an Indian song into English and the result is hillarious.
I think its is street punks who did misheard its chorus. The song have clean and classy French lyrics and we heard it into something r-18.
Larusso must be relieved her songs didnt get misheard into something else when they got famous here. I think larusso is the 2nd French act that got famous here,
