Do you wear contacts?!

I need advise/information from folks who constantly wear contact lenses. I stupidly managed to break my glasses that I wear every day last night, so I went on to the back-up plan, which is wearing contacts. I have about 2 years worth of them sitting around that I haven't bothered wearing. I find them to be kind of a pain in the butt. I haven't actually put my contacts in since July, when I was on vacation in Las Vegas. . Now that I'm wearing them, I've decided they aren't TOO bad - although they are drying out my eyes (must. buy. eye drops), and I've also noticed that sometimes they start to blur. I think it's probably normal, that they are re-focusing or something, and when I blink it normally goes away in a few seconds, but it's driving me sort of nuts. Do you have this problem too? Or is it 'normal'? What are your general opinion of contact lenses? Do you prefer them over glasses? And do you get USED to wearing them? Is it an acquired thing? Thanks for your help!

I wore glasses for nearsightedness for many years. I briefly tried contacts once for a few weeks but never could get comfortable with them. Several years ago I got Lasik so I no longer need glasses for distance but I do need them for reading and at the computer; at first I didn't needed them at the computer but now I do. For all my years of wearing glasses and doing things like playing football, basketball, etc. with friends and playing tennis and other sports, I only broke my glasses once and that was when playing volleyball on a concrete court that had some sand on it that I slipped on. Although I like that I got Lasik, there are some things to consider. In my case, at least at the time I had it done, my pupils may have been borderline as far as being too big so at night I get a star effect around lights. Also, in many cases it can lead to having a bit of a dry eye problem. In my case one thing that I miss from when I wore glasses is that back then if I wanted to exam something really close, I could take off my glasses and bring it close to my eyes and it would be like a magnifying glass. That is gone now that I've had the Lasik.

I was already 15 years in wearing my contact lens. yes at times it becomes blurred and dry but in my experience, I just blink many times to mist my eyes. No need to buy eye drops. It becomes dry when you stare on things like computer monitor. so blinking or closing the eyes for a 2 seconds can do the trick. For me, wearing contact lens are more convenient than wearing a glasses.
