What would it take for you to really be able to enjoy life?

Is it more money you're looking for? Is it a better relationship with family members? Or hoping for Mr./Mrs. Right to come into your life that will make the difference? I'm asking because it seems I'm always waiting for something to make my life worthwhile, sometimes without even realizing it. It seems, and maybe you can identify with this, if the job situation is going good, my personal relationships may not be and vice-versa. Just sitting at my computer today going over some things I'm working hard to improve in my life started me to really thinking on this. What am I waiting on? And why? Will I ever get to the place where I can just enjoy my life as it is today, without constantly holding out for things to be ideal. And watching life pass me by in the meantime. What's your take on this? Do you feel you're living life to your best ability right now or are you like me? Can you give some pointers to help people such as myself move forward in this area?

Hello there! I would be a hypocrite if I say that what I need now to enjoy life is not money. Yes, right now it is what I need to be able to enjoy life. I have not been satisfied with what I have today to enjoy life fully. I want to have enough money so that before my parents die I would be able to give/share them all the goodness they have done for me. I want to replay them for all the sacrifices and I want them to enjoy life. If I would be able to see them enjoying life then I would be every happy will be able to enjoy life also. Being able to enjoy life for me is variable. It changes when our priorities changes from time to time. I do think I am not living the best of my potential. Like you, though I have a stable job I am still waiting for the good opportunity to be able to have a higher income. And realizing that gives me direction. I am now taking steps to realize my goal in life, though it is slow but at least I am doing something to make it come true. As for you, I think that is what you need to do. Ask yourself what you really want in life that makes you dissatisfied now, what do you want to achieve? And from there make some plans and put them into action. Surely it will give you the direction you need, the something that you have been waiting.

Dazzledlady, I agree with so much of what you have said. See, I also want to do good for my parents who had a big hand in me being the woman I am today. I really, really want them to know that I am okay in every area of my life. They were and are great parents and I know they're already proud of me but I want them to see me live up to my potential. And of course I want to see myself be all I can be. Thanks for the encouragement and the advice. I really do appreciate it.

For me to have all the wisdom that I can have and know how to handle situations and have plenty of true friends and a firm grip on family. But I won't be able to relax in life until I achieve all my dreams and have my name last in history, lol.

For now I can say I'm enjoy my life to be a single. I have 2 daughters my eldest has her own family, and my youngest is with me. But of course I'm still hoping to have the man in my dreams, to be with when I'm old. I get so easily contented what I have now, I don't force things to make it happen, I want to live simple, free from stress and always happy.

i do wish i have all. though, life is so complicated that i may like it but i never get it easily. it need a lot of hard work. so everything start from small steps into becoming a big steps. i also experience the same things with you. i am also tired of waiting for some opportunity even it fail me. still not stop trying and maybe that time is not yet the right time, and maybe next time would be able to achieve successfully something plan. so just do not lose hope, and keep on dreaming to reach your goal in life.

Thanks, Flower21. You've said some encouraging things here. I agree that it takes hard work to reach our goals in life. I believe that if we just keep trying we'll eventually get there. Like you said, small steps turning into big ones. I just know we can't give up. As you pointed out, this next time could be the time that everything turns around for our good. I'll keep the hope. You do the same.

my simple wish for now is to be with my son 24/7 but because i need to work, i simply can't. i know God has a batter plan for us that is why i do not fear. i try to enjoy life to the fullest because life is too short and i want to instill in the mind of my son that happiness is not what the quantity we have but rather is all about the quality we have. before, i dream of becoming a well known scientist and do a lot of money. but now that i have a family of my own, my only wish for is to be a stay at home mom and serve my family. sometimes maturity and responsibility change how we view life. and i know with God's guidance i can do want my heart really wants.

For me - Good health and a full time job for both my man and I. It's as simple as that. I don't need a lotto win, my family and I are very close, I have all the friends I need...

i think the ability is very important.
Now money plays a important role in our life, to lead a good, it can not away with money. While to enjoy life, the ability to earn money is very important, so that you can live well in any place in the world. if without that you can lose money and further can not enjoy life nay more.

I am settled, I have my family, although I was widowed for 19 years, quite happy with three children, a son in law and 2 beautiful grandchildren. I experienced before good income while raising my children since got quite old am no longer earning like before. Perhaps I had enjoyed life already when I was younger but at mid fifties seems to be a quite tough situation. Though the children are earning it's not enough for the whole family to enjoy. When we got short of our finances that's the problem. We really need money to complete our enjoyment.

Bing28, thanks for responding. I really appreciate it. Sounds like you have a lovely family. That is a blessing all on its own. And I know what you mean about the money situation. That has been a lot of my problem throughout my life, my adult life that is, money issues. There's been lots of good times in that area and plenty of not-so-good times. I always manage to pull through though. I just get tired of going from one financial struggle to another. Thing is, that's a part of life for many of us. I just want to get myself to the place mentally and emotionally where I'm not letting this dictate my level of life enjoyment. I do find great comfort, however, in a steady relationship with the love of my life, which helps me find comfort in times like these and trust that all will be well. Thanks again.

One word. Happiness either here in this world and or the hereafter. Happiness in this world has something to do with money because it is tool to reach something. With money I can raise my kids, help people, have a better place to live. Happines also relates to satisfaction. Satisfaction to fulfil or accomplish what I am supposed to do as a human being as ruled by the Creator of the universe. Satisfaction not to do what I am not allowed to do. All these good deed will bring about expected result in the hereafter...

For me I would like to have enough money to just keep up with everything and have money in savings. To spend time do the things that we enjoy with my family. Simple things in life is what really makes me happy. And even though I get side tracked sometimes because it's so hard to make enough, I still remind myself of what is really important in my life. I agree with you how everything seems to be vice versa. It's a bummer when that happens. Yeah it won't be ideal. We have to be content with life. I think that is key and make the most of what we have and our doing.

Dominique25, thanks for commenting. I see similarities in our situations. I basically am trying to keep my head above water, financially, so that I can achieve my higher goals in life. Constantly dealing with the money issues keeps my head so wrapped up in concern, until I have neither the desire or fortitude to pursue my goals. But one thing I'm not is a quitter. I'll get through and so will you.

I know I would definitely like to start a family, but at the same time I dont want to because I want to devote all my time to school for a while. I also have realized that the more you accomplish, the more you find new things to want. At least I think that is how it is in life. Not sure, but I think that even if everyone had things they wanted, they would then want other things. Idk, maybe life is about being grateful for things and sticking with those things as main sources of feeling fulfillment and purpose.

I think you're right, Jaslupton, seems the more we have the more we want. But I have a clear cut idea of what I want out of life. It's simple really: Great family relations, the right career, and money (I don't have to be rich, just enough to be comfortable and do some things for the community and the world as a whole). Thanks for responding.
