Hi friends I would like you share your opinion in regards to your number of posts or quality of posts that you put up in myLot . I find many members just post a line or two when placing comments . Sometimes the comments are vague and clear shows that they have just posted to increase the numbers beside their username . As for example, if someone wants to know about a site or questions about its legitimacy , some members will post in response "It is the first I hear about this site , I have no idea" . Isn't that a vague answer . Whereas I have seen members keep on responding may be to the same discussion , if neeeded , informative and quality response not bothering what there post number is . I definitely appreciate the second lot and try to follow them . What is your say on this ? Does number or quality of posts is of importance to you . Please share .

The number beside our name, which is actually called the user rating, is only really important in achieving certain milestones, in my opinion. It is supposed to be an indicator of how active a user is, but I do not really think that it is very useful as such. Well, I guess in a way it is, because someone with a high user rating has started or responded to numerous discussions, but if they just make a comment and leave, then I do not consider that as really "active". On the other hand, a person might have a relatively low user rating and yet comment back and forth with many people in numerous discussions - that (to me, at least) is more "active" than just responding and leaving a discussion never to return again to that discussion. Therefore, I would definitely consider quality of posts more important than quantity, although again "quality" is subjective.

I know that there are a few of us who spend a lot of time adding comments and therefore are even ore active than we are percieved to be by that number.
Notoce that I used 'percieved' and not 'seen' as I also know that many see us and get annoyed by it too

LOL! If they get annoyed when the see us like this, then imagine how annoyed they would be if we put our real pictures on here rather than just using an avatar.

Hi rolly!
You are very right that responses should be meaningful and in details. However, sometimes due to some reasons some mylotters post a brief response (that includes me).
If I know about the topic in details I try to elaborate my response and I love to share my views and ideas.
I feel happy to see detailed responses in response to my own discussions.
However, I have observed that every lotters does not post a descriptive response.
I feel that I can not regulate their responses. They are free to respond in whatever manner they like.
Having said that I have also observed that my dear friends here on mylotters always come out with some wonderful ideas/solutions in response to my own posts.
In nutshell quality responses are always welcomed by everyone.
Have a Happy Holi tomorrow!

i agree with deepak, quality posts are valuable and always fun to read them completely. i always have a habit to be dot on point and respond accordingly without using very many adjectives like...thanking, nice views etc etc...so i would say my responses are small and to the point...

There have only been two occasions when I took notice of the number beside my name. That was when I was nearing 10,000 and 20,000. I leave a response or a comment on many topics which I know will later be deleted and when that happens my number drops. At the time I knew there was a friend waiting to start a topic concerning my new number and I was aware that it could appear to have reached a round figure, only to drop later. The rest of the time I just don't bother about it at all. After all it has no relation to earnings and is just indicative of how active a user is.
I just keep posting, sometimes over and over again on the same topic just as though it was a conversation. Just like happens with a conversation too, sometimes my comments are longer and sometimes only a few words are necessary.
I enjoy back and forth banter on the same topic and I know that there are many of us who come here and spend a lot of time doing just that. Whe I see a user who I know will get involved with lots of back and forth comments then I land in their response box and leave a comment, knowing that they will soon arrive
Sometimes even short posts are quality too while a long post that just rambles on and on, repeating itself and saying the same thing is not quality at all. As long as a post is pertinent and adds something to the discussion then it has a worthy place there, regardless of how long it is. Just for the record, absolutely nowhere do myLot tell us that a post must be of a certain length. That is just a myth that many Lotters have created over the years since myLot started.
When a post says (to cite your example) 'I have no idea', it is not relevant to the topic and is often deleted by admin. There is certainly no benefit in leaving such a post as far as earnings are concerned.

Thank you so much friend for your response . I love the way you put all the pertinent points . I agree with you that sometimes a few words and lines can be very meaningful than posting paragraphs without relevant substance . It is sometimes irritating when the same member drops in and says that he has no idea about my topic and goes ahead asking me questions . Apart from money it is so interesting to keep on conversing and keeping the discussion alive and that may not always be some high thoughts or matter of quality .I have been here only for eight months and never the thought of the number or color of star made me worry . I post discussion when a good and interesting topic comes to my mind and participate in discussions of others only when I have something to add and have idea about .

I don't start many new topics because I don't always have time tobe here to keep up with the comments on the responses. That's not a problem though because there are already so many discussions that it would take years to particpate in them all

I bet that the 10,000 and 20,000 markers were not the only ones where you paid attention to the number next to your name, although admittedly you might have forgotten about the first few, especially since they happened so very long ago. I am sure that when you were a newer user, you also paid attention when the number reached 100, 200 and 500, but as I already said, it was a long time ago, so perhaps you have forgotten over the years.

I have never cared about the number, and if an emoticon is enough to tell what I have to say, I will not write three phrases. I never respond to a discussion when "I have no idea", but I think that a response does not need to be long to be a "quality" response. It depends of the context.

Hello rolly,
I find this discussion good so I will comment what's on my mind. I know I am a new member here and I had been into many types of forum except ptp forums. When I entered this site, first that I was thinking is the post -- if it is okay to post one-liner post or the forum requires a post that has a quality and not considered as a spam to earn money. After seeing people are just posting for money, they tend to spam (I mean, reply with one-liner so that they could earn big). That makes me sad, because people nowadays choose money (I also admit I want money) and the essence of this site being a forum was vanished. For now, I don't care about my posts because this is a big forum and this is not a spam section (If you know what I mean).
I think that's all I want to share. Feel free to comment and I will answer it as soon as I get online. Good day ~

Hi chichard!
We can be sure about one thing that they are not going to get paid with just a single line post. If they thought they will get it they thought wrong. They will earn nothing from it. That is why we always have new discussions of those who complained about not getting paid for their response but they don't realized they just wrote simple answer that has no meaning. They should come up with more than just a single line. We can share nothing if the just write it that way~(^^)

It is not the number of posts, but the quality of the posts. It is the quality that mylot looks for. I think people get the idea that they can post anything just to get more posts and money as well. It doesn't take that long to po a decent one, and not just hope to make more money. After all, mylot is all about having fun and not just making money. I am not here as much I used to be, becauI have other things to do, but, whI am here, it is just to have fun. Take care, and ha a very good day.

Hi Rose ! I am here too because I enjoy the ambiance of myLot . Earning is secondary for me . Like you I think if the response is not relevant and meaningful it is no point posting it . Number is not the basis in myLot at least.
Thanks for your response

good day rollylolly,
with reference to your main topic discussion, for me, both the numbers and quality of the posts that matters. as these factors coincides with each other. although most often times, the quality of the post that really matters. since this is the one that really gives life to the response and the topic discussion. thus if the topic does not possess the good quality, it will just receive a vague answer at all.

Its depends on individual. I like to place my comments everywhere if I got anything to say about the subject matter. Some will write it for the sake of post numbers while others might love to have just a post and write it longer to make their point clear. It is up to them. If they can write many posts or comments under one discussions but with a good quality of comments then why not?? I will not going to just write single or two lines. That would be not enough for me. In fact I hate to received such comments as well. So I don't do it. There are times when I feel like to talk with others so I will post some comments under their's. Otherwise I will just give my view only.(^^)

Well,I never care about the number beside my username,I even don't know what it means.Sometimes I just can't help responding to some discussions that interest me,for example, this discussion, haha.Maybe sometimes my responds seems meaningless, but I just want to express what I feel.Of course, the quality of posts is of importance to me,since fortune comes from the crystallization of thinking.I hope that you will understand my poor English.

hi rollylolly I try to make my posts long enough to be understandable and intelligent. After all people will read them and I would feel embarrassed if the readers do not understand what I am saying. For me quality is the name of the mylot game.I know some are just posting anything hoping to increase the number after their name. evidently they did not bother to read the guidelineswhere we are told quality over quantity. Also the number after our names only indicates our activity not how much
we will earn. One sentence nonsense really earns little if anything.
I enjoy being here and love to join conversations with friends here and help carry on the discussion.I do not ever worry about my number after my name,I am too busy having fun here.

I'm always trying to make a quality discussion. I also tried, to make a quality response. Sometimes, I was also disturbed, with MyLot members, who made a vain discussion. But, I do not care, that such member. What is important, I try to do my best to MyLot.

Hello rollylolly!
There are times I simply make a post by few lines, if I don't have much to say just like commenting on an already long conversations. But if I respond in topics, I see to it that I have posted long lines and be descriptive of it. It is better to have quality posts, isn't it? By doing this, we can earn more than we expected. It is not by the number of posts you make, it is more of quality ones and if you really like to earn in here, you have to make it a point to post more of quality than quantity.

Yes, of course! having the quality response or posts can be more interesting as well to whom we are talking to.It gives them more opinions or knowledge on what to post next, what to ask and how exciting can our posts be when we know we are both excited on how the flow of conversations goes...
