Am I the only one who not frequently use facebook?

I do have a facebook account, and I do have a list of friend. Because everyone talk me into facebook, at work, and my family, my cousins, and my friends, so I figure that I should open an account with it, and so I won't be look like I am from out of space or from ancient time. But the crazy thing is, some of my friends stop using email, or call me up, they rather left message on my facebook account, and they choose to communicate with me through facebook more often. I just told them, I am not a frequent facebook user, and I might check it out once a week, or less than that. It seems my honesty won't make anyone understand, they still left those messages and awaiting for my responses. Oh God, should our future rely on facebook or text message communication?

So it means you're always on Facebook, right? I think you're not the only one who is a frequent user on Facebook. Some people are still active on Facebook but they still prefer to be offline on the chat site. Nothing is wrong when you're active as long as you're doing it as way to communicate those people whom you need to keep in touch.

No, on my discussion above, I said that I don't get on facebook as often as my friends did. So, I always miss their messages, and I prefer they called me or send me an email message, that is all.

I rarely use facebook anymore. I joined back when it was restricted to students using college emails to register. It let me keep in contact with virtually my entire high school class as well as easily exchange contact info with new people at college. Once they opened the flood gates to let everyone register, facebook evolved into something completely different. Now I use it mostly as a simply way to log in to websites that let you use your facebook account as a login. As far as keeping in contact with people, facebook stopped being a resource for that awhile ago. Now I pretty much rely on my phone and a program called skype. If you've never heard of it, its basically a phone for your computer. You can call other peoples phones, or receive calls to it, all using a headset with microphone. There are charges for this service, but the real kicker is that you can message, have phone and even video chat with a webcam with other people using skype for free. You can even do this with the app if you have a iphone, and I assume its available on the android too. Facebook is definitely not going to become the new form a communicating with people, though a lot of people are adopting it, so I expect it to be a solid alternative.

I am also not a frequent FaceBook user. I have an account but I hardly go there. I use FaceBook for promoting all my sites like MyLot. I sometimes leave a message there or write something on my wall. But I am busy with so many other things that I have no time to waste on faceBook. If someone wants to contact me, they could text my phone, call me or send me an email. Not on FaceBook.

I rarely use Facebook and even if I log in, I usually spend like 10 minutes maximum. Most of my friends knows that I am not so much into Facebook and those who would like to communicate with me, a few of them do leave those messages while other prefer to wait untile when I am online and chat with me. Unless I am communicating with someone in another country, I always prefer texting rather than using Facebook.

i think this is very unusual thing because now days ,who have account in facebook ,are almost addicted to it and they open their account at least one time in a day and i personally doing this thing because i love facebook.but for me it is not the only tool of communication,i call my friends and sms then as well.because i think in facebook we can connect more than one person at a time without any intervention by others.

I don`t use facebook that much either. I prefer to see my friends at a cup of coffee or out at a bar. Many ppl have in their lists like over 500 friends but no1 is really a friend, u can`t rely on them on anythig in real life. So better go get some real life friends and stop wasting time on facebook imho.

I used to be the same way. The only reason I even had a Facebook account was because one of my daughters who lives out of state wanted me to get one. Since then, I've slowly become more accustomed to it and usually (not always, though) log in at least once a day. My daughter doesn't even read her email any more. I've sent her emails and messages through Facebook and Facebook is the only one she will respond to, so if I want to tell her something, I have to do it there. I think technology is taking us farther and farther away from real contact with people. It grows on you, though, so be careful!

You're not the only one who doesn't use facebook a lot. Although I'm not one of them, I do know a few people, who have a facebook account and don't use it a lot.

I know some of my friends who are like you. But, unlike you, I am a person whose first site I log on to, besides mylot is Facebook. It's just that I find it easier to communicate through that site especially with my family and friends. Still, like I said earlier, I do have a few friends who open their Facebook account once a week or even once a month. These are some of my friends who are too busy with work and other stuff. As for me, I am fortunate that in my day job, all sites are free pass. There's not much restriction so Facebook is more like a page that sits there on my browser and nothing else.

You're not the only one, pal. I too have a vast pile of friends and stuff but it seems I'm not really enjoying on it. I realized it's just more of a waste of time. When I found myLot I am more into this site than that useless one.

I used to be a frequent user of facebook. But I find it occupying too much of my time. I could spend the whole day checking messages, leaving comments, snooping friends photos and games. I was addicted to the virtual world and feel like wasting my time. So I decided to deactivate it. My friends couldn't see me in facebook and thus they will use other way like phone call and instant message. However, its real struggle for me to stop using facebook :(

I made Facebook account just because my friend keep on forcing time. I prefer twitter than facebook, and now I prefer mylot than twitter :D I wonder if someday mylot giving service sending message :D

That's really up to you what you want to do in your own time and people you know in Facebook. Just depends the people you contact from time to time or on a daily basis. As it is, Facebook has become the new way of mobile communication. These days logging in on a computer isn't really relevant anymore and much more reliable contacting people on Facebook through mobile phones the same way you text message people. (Android, Blackberry, iPhone) -- That's if you have a phone that supports this, if so, I say the better. It's even more convenient with the new Facebook Messenger app for mobile phones you can text message your friends through there.

Oh my god. You just made me realize something. My friends used to call me on home phone (because I didn't have a cell phone at that time) to talk or e-mailed me, but instead; when I got a facebook, they stopped. I don't think a friends ever called me since a year or two ago, which makes me really sad. All they do now is Facebook chat me or post on my wall. And I also leave my Facebook open on a tab and never use it unless someone chats me or if I want to chat someone. And seriously, it seems like everyone has an iTouch now. They always rely on their iTouch and carry it everywhere to play their little mini-games. I remember when people used to bring their DS's or books or Tamagotchi's, but that didn't bother me. But it does bother me when they bring iTouch's because they act snobby when they carry it; but no one acted snobby when they were with their DS's and stuff.

I know what you mean, I sometimes think if it wasn't for the effort I make to still go visit people I would never be face to face with my friends anymore, Facebook is good but it has its drawbacks.

It already has. I am on facebook right now as I type this. I love the site, and have it up every day, even if I am not on here. Many people use facebook, some while in line at the grocery store even. It seems the common thing to say now is "chat with me later on facebook or text me".

Hey Kingparker I have a facebook account and ill admit the reason i have it is so i save money on my phone bill because it doesn't cost anything to leave a msg on there but the downside is i don't have it on my phone and i wont get it on my phone because that's going way too far!! Facebook admittedly should only be used as a place to catch up with friends family etc..not to be sat staring at waiting for a reply for a status just for likes so you can feel popular(trust me i know some people like that) lol :)
