SuperHuman Brain Abilities

Just read an article about people who have superhuman brain capacity, particularly this kid who remembers everything. Apparently, someone had found that disabling parts of the brain can give people the same abilities. They built a device that sends electromagnetic charges to the brain to disable it, then test the subject for significant increase on mental abilities. They've found that 40% of their subjects were able to exhibit super-human brain capacity, mainly boosting their creativity.
I think this is great if we can do it without any help from drugs, or any fancy mechanical device. This would help greatly with students, and professionals, alike. I'm sure you can see where this could apply best. I'm wondering what applications you can think of, having a special ability like this.

That's actually cool but out of curiosity, which parts of the brain do they disable? It's quite risky doing that just to be able to regain some memory. I would rather take the NZT pill. Hehehe.
However, given the NZT pill, I would probably do the same as what Bradley Cooper in that movie (Limitless). Although, I think that's too much power for a man to have.

I think Limitless is too exaggerated. It was a movie after all. They temporarily disable the frontal lobe or something, I forgot the term.

That's cool to have one superbrain! I think through the hypnosis and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Program) could possibly achieved this too. As I read about hypnosis, the hypnotherapist could help the patient to recall their memory and even goes beyond the past life.

Really? I've read about lucid dreaming but I thought it was just bullsh!t. Although some people know how to do it. I heard it's like hypnosis, although you're really dreaming and you have full control over your dream.

The development and exercise of the human brain much more than its present state of activities would only be disastrous to the entire human race. Super human brains would only be thinking and contriving unusual modes of operations. It would definitely harm the present system of living.

Just a week back in the city of Mumbai in an auditorium there was a demonstration by a young monk belonging to the Jain religion on the powers of the mind. He sat cross-legged on the stage with his eyes closed and asked members of the audience randomly to ask him 200 questions of all kinds with their answers thrown at him at a rapid pace. After everybody had finished he proceeded to answer whatever was thrown at him correctly and in the exact sequence in which he was asked, both questions as well as the answers ,without faltering even once. This man has the ability to memorize 800 questions and answers after hearing them just once, in just one sitting.Since time was short he kept them to just 200, no mean feat.Of course there was a lot of hard work behind it, a lot of meditation and spiritual practices. The brain has tremendous powers which we humans hardly utilize even one percent. If we utilized the full capacity of our brains then we would all become superhuman beings.

That's amazing. He should've done some tremendous meditations in order to achieve that. I mean, I can't even concentrate on my girlfriend's questions when she's nagging me about something.

From one side it seems like a lovely idea. I'd like to have a better memory than I do now, but what parts of the brain are they disabling. It seems to me that such a method would cause us to be more like robots than human. Now that doesn't seem so wonderful any more.

Yep. Well, more like cyborgs. We still would have feelings. Even cyborgs don't have feelings. Most of them, at least. This would be a big leap for humanity just in case this experiment pulls through.

To be honest i dont think that i would go through doing that. It sounds really dangerous. And also everything has a side effect. I mean the side effect could be that you dont live as long as you would have if you have this done. Some people that dont think they are smart and they think they cant learn like others i can see that they would do that but i really dont think this sounds safe at all.

You're right, it is not safe. They say it has some side effects. Anything that has a side effect for me is dangerous if taken frequently.
