Sabah is located on the island of borneo. It was given as a gift to the sultan of Sulu for helping the sultan of Borneo.
When the spaniards tried to conquer mindanao and sulu, the sultan of sulu asked the british to give him weapons to fight the invading spaniards. In return, the sulatn of sulu agreed to "lease" sabah to the british.
When the federation of malaysia was formed, the people of sabah were asked if they want to be part of malaysia or the philippines. The people voted to be part of malaysia.
This issue is still pending on the international court.
I cant give enough details about this matter but you can searh for it in the internet.

I don't think so. Those people is Sabah are wise enough to vote to stay under the Malaysian government. If they are to be under the Philippine government, they'll suffer as how we are currently suffering right now. In my opinion, it's better that at least those people there are free from our burden that clamping on them down and letting them suffer with us when they can live a better life.
I am sorry to day that despite being a Filipino, I am not proud of how our race thinks and moves. We are so dependent on something that we should be not depending on that the ones suffering more will be the next generation that is to come. I don't know if you'll understand what I mean but it is nigh the time for Filipinos to use their brains more than depend on other people to do that for them.

Yeah this issue is has been really interesting for the past generations because probably a lot of Filipinos are not even aware that Sabah was once a part of the Philippines. In my opinion, it would be ideal if the Philippines gets back what is truly theirs, also getting it back would somehow help the Philippines because there is surely some useful natural resources in that big island. Lastly, it would be really nice to see the small country of the Philippines get an expansion.

I think that's how the Muslims in Mindanao feel, they want to get Mindanao back.
If you truly believe that we should get Sabah back because it's rightfully ours after all these years, then what reason could we give the Muslims for not giving them Mindanao back?
I lived in Zamboanga, so I know.

I am aware of the situation of our Muslim brothers in Mindanao, however the government has already done certain things to give them what they want such as the establishment of ARMM. Nevertheless, the government cannot approve what some Muslims want specifically Mindanao being independent from the government because at the end of the day Mindanao is still a part of the Philippines and the people of Mindanao, be it muslims or not, are still Filipinos. Lastly, every Filipino has the right to live anywhere in the Philippines, that's why the muslim natives of Mindanao are allowed to settle in areas in Luzon, Visayas and especially in the National Capital Region.

I do believe that mindanao is not the property of muslims.
If you base on history, the LUMADS were the first inhabitants of the island. The muslims were just lumads who were converted to Islam by the arab merchants and explorers.

Hi,
I'm not really in the position to answer this matter since we are not directly/indirectly involved on this but as a citizen of this country I can only comment on it.
actually I just learned this after reading your post.
I am not really concerned about the matter since it won't help in anyway with the sour economy that we have today. whether we can get it back or not I believe it wouldn't really have that substantial impact to help uplift our economy. The same thing with the Spratly issue where they believe if we can retain the ownership of it would greatly benefit our country because allegedly, as they say, the island has a considerable amount of deposits of oil and stuff. I am no expert or a foreteller but still I am so wary and just don't have that trust with the Government and to the other authorities.

Yes its still pending, there are many issues involved about this.
For many years this issue has been "sleeping"
The last pinoy president to take action about this was president marcos, but he failed misserably (the jabbida massacre).

Heya, Noypi here! i friends naman natin ang isa't isa para cool! LOL!
Well, with regards to Sabah, I doubt. Remember the Spratly Island? What happen? Nothing...Anyway, we're not the only country whose having property issues. Even South Korea's Dokdo Island which is being claimed by Japan.
I don't know why countries have to argue about it. It's all power and greed. There are much bigger and more important issues out there. I don't see any point of paying attention to land property.
