so it seems 2mbps is just 800kbps or 0.8mbps and 1mbps is only 360kbps I think there is something wrong in our national policy concerning internet speeds, We are being rob right in front of our face.

Sometimes I wish these providers would explain in a more detailed manner these things especially for people like me who aren't that great at technical stuff . And the mere fact that they put a disclaimer in too fine a print makes me think that they're deliberately trying to hide these things. A lot of people eagerly subscribe to these providers because they aren't aware that these speeds the providers claim are not absolute, that the speed is dependent on several factors.

Hi beam,o Still I feel robbed by the whole system. What is paid in full for should be had in full, if Juan paid for one kilo of fish, he should get one kilo and not just 800 grams. The way I see it, it's just plain robbery and nobody has done something about it. That's how ignorant we are, we keep on patronizing the product even if we know we've been had.

You right, my friend. Those ISP's is schemer and not provide the true speed of internet that we pay fairly from them. They should be bring into the bar of justice, but I don't think they are punish since they are rich and have money to manipulate the law...

i think this is true. we have limited options and that is why we are left with no choice but to stick with the data plan providers. it sure is the same case for us too. we have problems with internet connect and we only get 5% of the promised speed but weeks and weeks now we still are clueless as to the result of the complaint. the companies are not bothered at all because they know that other providers are not available in our area so that is what they do = con the subscribers.

Do you really think more government regulation is what we need? I think we have too much now, why even our own President apparently feels he does not need to follow the rules like the rest of us do. He makes decrees that are clearly against the rules and then his agencies put us citizens in lockup if we do the kind of things. No the national does not need to run the internet or broadband speeds! let competition regulate it. If one doesn't like what he is paying for then go to the other company and get it there.

I think you're forgetting the phrase "UP TO A MAXIMUM SPEED OF" that's noted in your contract or the fliers they give out. I'm a DSL tech rep for a foreign ISP and we always make sure to say that phrase I mentioned above. Although with the companies I represented and currently represent, there's a guaranteed minimum speed that a customer should get which is 75% of the maximum speed.

Perhaps there is a problem with Globe. There are a lot of complain about Globe. My aunt were Globe Broadband subscriber but they disconnected the service because the connection really sucks. There is a campaign on twitter and that is the Better Internet in the Philippines. There is a sign up campaign.

The indicated speed of your internet plan is just the maximum speed it can achieved especially for broadband. Actually it depends on your location. If you want to achieve the maximum speed try to contact your service provider for assistance. Adding an outdoor antenna for your broadband, i think, can help.
