How well do you know the people who live next door to you?

Since I lived in a alive street in the past, I knew well the people who live next door to me at that time. But I moved to apartment later. Then I knew not so well the neighbours because everyone didn't know each other and just closed his door when he came back. There are little chance for us to know each other. How about you? How well do you know the people who live next door to you ? :)

I have three close neighbors, two on the sides and one behind my home. I know their basic features enough to know that two of them are egoistic and believe others should give them tribute for allowing us mere mortals to exist, and the other one is a good lady which believes in sharing and asking for stuff instead of jumping the fence and just taking it. I speak politely with the lady from time to time, and share from the stuff I grow happily. When I see the other two I just ignore them, because if I even say hi they would be on my yard the next day stealing stuff :p. Sometimes its better not being too close to your neighbors, depending on how they are :p.

Yes. It depends on their characters. :)

I could say that I know enough well my neighbours, above all the old ones. But the recently moved neighbours I don't know very well. I think there is a lack of confidence to each other. However I try to be kind and they too. It is necessary to have good relations with the neighbours.

Hi, Yea, Apartment life is totally different.. Me too live alone now without friendly neighbors. Neighbors in my native place were friendly with us, we help them in their critical situations and they help us in our critical situations. Its really a great life we had in my native place. But now we shifted to a new place where we don't even know who lives around us. We miss a lot these days...
