Here weather forecasting is too bad, totally unreliable. The NASA Science News for Feb. 29, 2012 says.
NOAA and NASA are working on a series of next-generation weather satellites called "GOES-R" that will improve warnings of deadly tornadoes and other severe weather.
FULL STORY: http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2012/29feb_tornadosurprise/
Hope our government may avail the services and give right prediction.
Do you find the weather prediction reliable?

A running joke around these parts is the only reliable way to forecast the weather is to stick your head out of the window and see what it is doing right now. Which really is not that much of the forecast, but that is just that it is. Forecasts tend to vary. Even with all of the technology in the world that we have, it does not really matter. Technology is only good as the people using it and the people interpreting what is occurring.
Therefore, weather forecasts can range between anywhere of being absolutely good, at the top of the line, pretty much true to being so far off the truth that it is absolutely pitiful. I can tune into three different television stations for the morning news and get three drastically different weather forecasts. If that doesn't tell you something, I don't know what does. Weather forecasts can be true, but it is something to be taken with a grain of salt.

In my area we have a very good weatherman who is usually right. I am glad i don't live in a tornadoe area. Our big scare here is a earthquake. I am very close to a huge faultline. If it goes it will be huge.

The weather is constantly changing so no prediction is 100% correct. But I think the science news will happen anytime as there's climate change & global warming happening & many people/countries are still in denial even if it's right in front of their faces. If we people created this problem then only WE could fix it.

There are a ton of ways in which, however, I feel some of the old fashion ways still work best. Watch animals and how they are reacting. Even the feel of a cats fur can tell you that there may be a rain storm approaching. Heck, stick your head out of your window or door. You can tell by looking at the sky on your own if the weather looks good. However, trying to figure out for how long is another story. Of course that is when news agencies and different sciences come into play. Weather can change in a moment from being extremely nice to horrible. Not every bit of science can predict that.
I remember watching in a movie how weather was set by some sort of invention. This particular invention would actually allow the control of weather conditions in different regions of the world. Quite interesting if we could ever do that. Boy we could have a very green and fruitfull planet then.

yes, we do have pretty good weather people, meterologists so to speak, i like one guy here on our local news and trust him alot he is really goood his name is bill meck, but i also watch another meterologists whom is alos great so i have not one but 2 i can rely on, the 2nd one is chris bailey and he is from my hometown so that is why i support him ever chance i get, i know he is a good guy. and he does a very god job telling the weather...him and bill are in a close race as to who is better... i would ahve to go with bill because he gets so into his work and he is that good. and i have watched him for years and he has never let me down, so if bill says it i believe it ...

I have no idea what processes are used to predict your weather but we seem to be heading in the right direction here in the states. One thing they stress is how hard it is to pinpoint where tornadoes will touch down. It's "like predicting a hiccup". Last year during summer we had a huge vortex over our neighborhood, but luckily it never touched down. I just remember what seemed like light cloud cover and lots of rain going in every direction but straight down. It was an erie, scary atmosphere that day!

It is said that with the technology development, the weather forecasting become more and more reliable. But in my eyes, it is always wrong.
So sometimes, they will add all the possibility in to the forecasting, so that at least one of them will happy in the next day.
It is said there will be rain tomorrow.
Yeah, the next day we have a rain in three minutes when we are sleeping.
they are right in some degree, but it is really a sunshine day.
